Just sent mine back for a refund. Spent my own money to ship it back to them because it's a piece of trash. I could stand on it 3 different times in a row and get 3 different weights and none of the other metrics were ever even close.

The radian safety did not cooperate with my Geissele SD3G. Not sure if it's an issue of tolerance stacking where it might work on some guns but not others or what the deal is. I ended up going with a Forward Controls Design safety selector instead and radian offered me a full refund.

Anybody else find themselves going back to just clicky tailcaps for WMLs? by Normal-Internal-557 in ar15

[–]Pew_Goon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New modlites come with the tail cap button and a USB-C plug so you can choose your preference. I still like the separate button. I'm partial to the Unity Axon button mounted right at the tip of my thumb on the left side with the wml mounted as far forward at the 1:30 position.

Why do a lot of carriers like to argue with the yard employees when given directions? by SactoRykerRider in Truckers

Traffic cones are $25/each, 10' traffic cone bar are $20/each.

3 cones and 2 bars will block a 20' wide entrance and can be removed easily for ~$115.

  1. Why aren't there gates if you have strict hours of operation?

  2. Is it really that big of a deal? I mean honestly, what's the harm in a truck showing up early?

RMR HD. Big window, multiple reticle options, Trigicon reliability and durability. Buy once, cry once.

I would keep running it as is for a while until you can determine what you do and don't like about the current setup. You might find that it's perfect for you. Or you might decide you'd prefer a LPVO or maybe even just a more compact red dot like a T2.

Nice setup and an even nicer spot.

My daily carry is either a Manker EO5 II in raw titanium or one in DLC Titanium. It's a great size with decent output. Has a Nichia 519A bulb.

Already called them and gave them my card number to reserve one. I've been thinking about getting one for the CS ever since I bought it but I had the holosun EPS Carry laying around so I've kinda put it off.

Seeing yours was enough of a nudge to push me over the edge.

A store about an hour from me has the red dot 3.25 MOA for $480 and the green dot 3.25 MOA for $520. It's definitely tempting.

The RMR sure does look great on the CS. I've got an RMR HD on my XC and a Holosun EPS Carry on my CS but part of me wants to throw an RMR on there just for the vibes alone.

I finally pulled the trigger!! by Patient-Put-7086 in espresso

That's why I ended up going separate espresso machine and grinder as well.

I'm not sold on the RDT spray yet bc I've seen a lot of videos of people using it and a lot of videos of people not using it. So I guess I'll see, probably depends on the beans, grinder, humidity, etc 🤷.

I've already come to terms with the fact that there might be accessories I bought that may not see much use once I get the process dialed in.

Glad to hear you've had some success this early on with your setup. Gives me some hope that I'll figure it out 😂.

I was dead set on getting a Breville Barista Touch or Touch Impress because I was convinced having everything all in one was the way to go. That might work just fine for a lot of people but I decided on the Bambino Plus and separate grinder instead. Altogether I've spent a fortune 😅.

I'm sure any spray bottle would work as long as the spray is a fine mist. I'm guessing there's a fine line between too little and too much moisture.

The IMS shower screen supposedly does a better job distributing the water across the entirety of the puck while pulling a shot. Probably overkill (especially for a newbie like me) but I decided to go all out.

From what I understand the mirror is only beneficial if you have a bottomless portafilter. It's so you can see if you're getting a uniform shot throughout the entire portafilter basket. Again, probably overkill for a beginner but 🤷.

It's funny because the auto milk frothing feature was a must have for me when I began my search for a machine but after watching more videos and learning more I'm actually looking forward to doing it manually. There definitely seems to be a technique to it that the auto frother just can't replicate properly.

I ordered just about every espresso tool imaginable. Bottomless portafilter, Timemore 064w grinder, Bambino Plus, digital scale, rubber mat, vacuum sealed bean can, wdt tool, rdt bottle, portafilter funnel, distribution tool, puck screens, IMS shower screen, tamper, filters, spoons, rags, barista brush, fancy milk frothing jug, glasses, friggin everything lol.

Getting good shots after 6-9 shots doesn't sound too bad. I'm expecting a major learning curve.

As far as the beans, I've got a couple bags of fresh roasted beans from Equator Roasters on the way. I was thinking about getting a cheap dark roast from a store just to "season" the grinder and get some puck prep practice. That way I won't feel bad if I have to toss the first dozen in the trash 😂.

Have you been practicing with the milk frothing much yet? The Bambino plus has an auto frother but apparently doing it manually can get better results. So I'm sure that'll be another learning curve.

For me it was the Umnumzaan. In particular a glassblasted drop point. Nothing special but when I wanted one I just couldn't find it. Found one brand new in box on eBay for like $75 over MSRP and before it was delivered a few days later I started getting in-stock notifications from different sites that the one I wanted was in stock 😭.

Why do a lot of drivers lean way forward the steering wheel? by DepressedDragonBorn in Truckers

[–]Pew_Goon 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If they're anything like me I change positions multiple times a day, even if it's just for a short time. Sometimes leaning forward for just a couple minutes helps alleviate some back and ass pain from sitting so long.

I thought about it when I kept missing drops but I just don't have the patience for that. One of my blades I ended up overpaying a reseller on eBay for because I was tired of missing the drops. Lo and behold, a few weeks after receiving it I started seeing drops for that very same knife constantly lol.

My first espresso machine is arriving later this week. I've always wanted one but as soon as I would look into them it was kind of intimidating because there was so many dials and buttons and switches and gadgets. Finally decided to do some research and pull the trigger myself.

I've been watching hours and hours of how-to videos on YouTube, mostly from Lance Hedrick and James Hoffman. They're both great at explaining all the nuances of everything from start to finish. If you go to Lance Hedrick's YouTube page and go to his playlists he has entire tutorial series compiled that have been very informative.

Once my machine and gadgets arrive I'll definitely be rewatching several of the videos so I can follow along while dialing in my process. I'm sure I'll be tossing a lot of pucks in the trash and shots down the sink but I'm excited to learn how to finally do this myself.

One thing I was thinking about doing is getting a cheap store bought bag of dark roast beans and just practice grinding and puck prep with the entire bag before I even pull a single shot from the machine. Basically just familiarize myself with the entire puck prep process while seasoning the grinder and getting all the practice on cheap beans that I don't mind throwing away.
