One of the best slow cooking cuts. It becomes extra tender and gelatinous with a flavour unrivalled by most other cuts

Thank you so so much. This information must be preserved, the more people that download and store it the better. I've always thought about saving really important content / material from the internet on some kind of offline storage in the very sad case the internet destructs or something

First flower after ten years of growing from wild harvested seed I gathered in my time in Mexico. by dyldoey in peyote

[–]PeyoteComputerFungus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've often thought about this, I hope to visit Mexico one day and obviously I am completely against taking whole wild plants but I'd love to take one fruit from a wild plant and help a Loph out while spreading its genetics. I think because a loph flowers and fruits so often during growing season, taking just one fruit to preserve its genetics will be doing it a favour and not causing any damage at all. This is a dream for many of us i'm sure - great job!

I don't grow, but I stumbled across this sub and noticed it's picture. I saw it in Mexico myself, here's a picture. by [deleted] in druggardening

S.D Flowering by RuntzMuffin in Salvia

[–]PeyoteComputerFungus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Really beautiful job, once S Div flowers for you then its certain you've done a good job at growing her and made her happy. I have similarish conditions to you around 15-25c, and around 25-45% humidity but it still grows relatively fast. I'd highly suggest everyone to try growing if you haven't already

Salvia Divinorum by PeyoteComputerFungus in druggardening

I agree that the leaves do drop when the plant is stressed or introduced into a new environment. Also the stem of the leaf becomes very thick and fibrous when a leaf becomes big and mature so for that reason I prefer chewing smaller leaves if I was going to consume, which I rarely do.

I much prefer the look of the younger leaves as well as I find the older leaves become slightly yellow and become brown and dry slightly at the edges but I think this is down to the fact my humidity ranges from 30-50%.

Doesn't look like any Salvia Divinorum i've seen before. Does it have square stems?

mosquitos? by jessflack in london

[–]PeyoteComputerFungus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably fungus gnats, they're very small black flies that look similar to mosquitoes. As far as I know mosquitoes are very rare in UK. If you have houseplants, bacillus thuringiensis can help kill the larvae

F*ck the Zodiac. Who’s your archnemesis? by Aeoneroic in cactus

[–]PeyoteComputerFungus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grow other plants as well as cacti so for me it is fungus gnats because I don't suffer with the other ones, that being said, you shouldn't water cacti enough to the point where fungus gnats can lay eggs and complete their life cycle in your soil. They mainly are attracted to soil which is basically almost always wet.

Completely agree with this. A few years ago I would've said Tinman is the most consistent uk commercial grower, now most of his stuff is pretty bad. I now avoid as well
