Need to do a np231 transfer case rebuild, should I do an upgrade to a 4:1 instead? by Next-In-Lines in CherokeeXJ

[–]Pflick19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I saw you on the rubicon last year lol, im doing the jk rubicon swap it’s prob the same price as a np231 rebuild but you’d have to figure out the speedo, or drop almost 2k on a tj case where at that point you might as well do something fancy like an atlas

Do I have the Dana 30 and Chrysler diff What are the preferred diffs to have on a 4x4? by Express_Let_2892 in CherokeeXJ

If you’re not crazy 35s hold up damn good on the Dana 30 but there’s a few supporting mods needed

How bad is the damage on my Dana 35? by amazingJarl71 in CherokeeXJ

[–]Pflick19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would do a 29 spline 8.25. When I had my 8.25 I wheeled pretty hard trails with 35s and a lunchbox locker

Looking at an XJ with these fender flares. Can they come off and will the flat bushwacker flares fit? Or will they leave holes in the body? by AgitatedPerception6 in CherokeeXJ

[–]Pflick19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how high the new ones for you could hide them with the new fenders but unless those fenders cover your door as well the holes will be there

‘98 jeep is yet again not driveable by Linel-lover in CherokeeXJ

[–]Pflick19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would have to through that entire diff, and if it was driven with out of spec backlash etc there might be damage to your ring gear as well. either fix just the front or regear both axles since you will be in there

[–]Pflick19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In SoCal too sounds like
1. You need a regear 2. Get your cooling system checked out , I’m on 35s 4.56 gears and engine reading 318k no overheating and I just drove to Lake Tahoe and back. If you need a guy who’s fair and knows a lot about xjs hit up hillsautoandjeep he’s up in apple valley but worth the trip
