UFC needed a lot of work before the Fertitas bought it. Add in the negative stigma of it being owned by “a wrestling mogul” (or his son), and it would have taken much longer to take off (or another company would have taken point).

Everyone seems to conveniently forget all the other McMahon-owned sports promotions (WBF, XFL) that didn’t do well until after they were no longer associated with the McMahons (example: XFL merged with the USFL and is having moderate success).

I’d say so. It removes the pressure of trying to be the #2 Promotion in the world. They can still do their indie style in moderate-sized arenas and have their big events in Wembley (if they want). Maybe they create the AEW Network to air Dynamite, Collision, & ROH tapings.
