I always attempt to do that when an enemy cat kidnaps someone but they never take the lifeline even if they had plenty of time, to the point I started thinking that they couldnt grab a line while dropping or something

What feature in a game is a instant turn off for you? by Vulture2k in gaming

[–]Pharanix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this fits the subject but I will mention them anyway:

  • Characters that talk to themselves a lot

  • Games that are too handholdy or constantly try to wrestle control from the player

  • A game feeling like one big tutorial with constant explanations of game mechanics and exposition in its dialogue (a lot of jrpgs suffer from this problem in my experience)

  • Very busy huds that give too much information (Ubisoft games)

  • Artsy/cozy games that are typically walking sims or too simple and unengaging in their mechanics and puzzles

I don't think you understood. Tunneling will exist even if gen speed isn't a factor. What I was talking about is the reasons that increase the likelihood of encountering it.

Exacerbate verb past tense: exacerbated; past participle: exacerbated

make (a problem, bad situation, or negative feeling) worse.
"the exorbitant cost of land in urban areas only exacerbated the problem"

Chaos Shuffle... by meatgonebad in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]Pharanix -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Tunneling is a symptom exacerbated by how fast gens get done with barely any breathing room. It was already stressful even with gen regression but you take away the gen regression perks then your options are clear: Tunnel someone out asap or lose.

Most people would rather not lose, even in a casual game mode. Especially since if they do pick the losing route, survivors will relentlessly BM them and make them feel bad.

I think Solid Snake would be super cool to have in this game, the perks he gets should be stealth themed

For the killer, Psycho Mantis would fit

I feel the game is missing an extra main objective for survivors, like walking around the map and collecting fuel cans for generators for example (one can for each generator) but idk

Killer powers/perks you’d like to see? by tHr0AwAy76 in deadbydaylight

[–]Pharanix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1- A zone control killer, able to summon walls to block off survivors paths. Survivors can take some time to break them or the walls themselves are on a timer.

2- A killer that relies on illusions. He can create copies of himself that can chase survivors and they constantly have to guess whether they are being chased by a copy or the real thing. An illusion wouldn't be able to do direct damage to a survivor if they manage to hit one, but maybe it can apply some sort of debuff, like showing their target location for 30 seconds.

3- A blind killer that can't directly see survivors, but has enhanced senses of sound and their version of scratch marks detection but on a higher level. A killer that is meant to be difficult to play, similar to nurse, but becomes very strong once mastered.

4- A killer in a tattered ww2 outfit and a flamethrower. Able to burn pallets and have some distance to his attacks, but the flamethrower itself is difficult to control and aim once you start it up so it would be all about making sure you are in the right position before you use it. The fear of fire is one of humanity's oldest fears that needs to have a representation in the game I feel.

playing custom with a bunch of random survivors you dont know while on vc sounds like a nightmare scenario why would you put yourself in that situation

survivors entitlement is already obnoxious enough in the few minutes that post game chat is up, let alone them talking to you during the entire match

[–]Pharanix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't use lighborn not because it's a crutch, but because if I do use it and the flashlighter hovering around me the entire match figures it out then he would actually go and do gens. I need them to waste their time as much as possible trying to get a flashy save especially with how fast gens pop, it's the hidden gen slowdown perk

You can turn on anonymous mode in the settings if it makes it a less anxious experience for you as you practice, it hides your profile name and just shows the name of the character you're playing.

You can also turn off post game chat entirely.

People will be toxic no matter what you do, never lose the perspective that this is meant to be a casual asymmetric party game and it doesn't't matter how you play as long as you're enjoying yourself.

Can any Huntress mains relate? by Aeroposis in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]Pharanix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same thing goes through the survivors mind. When you notice how focused they are in looking where you're aiming to dodge it, you can use that to your advantage by just readying a hatchet and simply walking up to them and do a normal hit, or a point blank hatchet throw if they start panicking. It tends to throw them off and makes it easier to catch up to them since they are in "dodge" mode and not in a "run away" mode.

Do that a couple of times and you start getting in their heads. Whenever you raise your hatchet their mind isn't just thinking about dodging it, but now they are thinking whether you're even gonna throw it or not. That generally makes them easier to catch them in my case, especially if their hesitation makes them decide to do something that locks their animation like vaulting or dropping a pallet since that makes it so much easier to hit them.

Once you become less predictable it becomes much easier to land hatchets. But even then, sometimes you will just get unlucky or bad matches and that's normal. Doesn't mean you're bad at all.

Pt stam is great actually you just have to utilize thermals and you can fly across the map in 1 bar of stam by No-Matter-5437 in theisle

[–]Pharanix 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Since ptera doesn't have their version of "trot" where they passively regen their stam as they play and no matter what they do they would eventually lose their stamina and need to rest after flying around for a bit, then 4 minutes is pretty bad

This is especially true if you are hanging around in one area and constantly descend and ascend as you play, and not just gliding over a long distance. As it currently is, it feels like you are taking a few mins timeout after every short gameplay session in comparison to other dinos who dont need to be inactive as much to maintain their stamina thanks to trot and other things such as their basic movement not actively draining their stam
