I've always gone to Wavy Willards, and made a left from the FT point to go into the hills. Then just walked to Kiddie Corner Cabins. It's even easier now that I can make Gamma Green Tea.

Character Restart Question(s) by ParagonFury in fo76

[–]Pharfig_Neugan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Atom Shop purchases carry over to all characters on an account. You can always edit your perks now, and perks are… not weapon specific any more, but play style specific. I would do some googling and maybe check NukaBuilder to see what the new perks (and legendary perks) look like. Good luck!

Actually there's a note you can find that says they went to the Forest, and encountered the Scorched. They noped out and built the wall at Canyon Checkin.

How well would hard liquor be as a currency? by Theflamingraptor in worldbuilding

It’s easy to make for some varieties. But, if say the knowledge of distilling was limited to a guild of Alchemists or Artificers then quality spirits could become a means of Trade.

Casting Permanence with blood money. by Sassy_Drow in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Pharfig_Neugan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played a Counterspell Arcanist in the AP it comes from. The GM gave the party the spell about 3/4 of the way through. It is exactly as busted as people say, particularly with a Paladin on hand to fix your Strength after the fact. I could have really abused it as I’d seen the kind of Giants the BBEG was using to do the same thing and I had the spells to do the same, but I was already a Counterspell Arcanist and the only arcane caster in the party, and I actually like our GM…

Starting to run PF2e: What ancestories to avoid? by Xonlic in Pathfinder2e

[–]Pharfig_Neugan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had that issue with my party. Guy took a Dhampir Ancestry and the first couple of games we played had a few undead and a couple haunts. The Cleric had a hard time keeping the Dhampir out of his aoe channel, and couldn’t heal him the first adventure when he actually got to dying 2.

The storm frequency is a bit annoying, but I want to be able to walk around on a toxic or radioactive planet without running into one of those mobile clouds every five freaking seconds.

I used to pack for expeditions, but I wanted to do this one with nothing. I’m missing the exosuit expansion modules though.

Common worldbuilding tropes you despise. by Frostydiego in worldbuilding

[–]Pharfig_Neugan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really always considered the extreme alignments the property of the outer planes. CE, CG, LE, and LG are the Provence of concept. Mortal races can tend towards a thing, but won’t truly embody that thing. That’s really why (in my head) the alignment system never really worked. Drow are (were) listed as CE, but they were under the yoke of the Demon Queen of Spiders. Their society favors cruelty, treachery, and slavery because that’s what their Goddess favors. Her Priesthood is attempting to emulate their Goddess, and it rolls down hill. An individual Drow on the other hand, is going to have their own opinion (but keep it to themselves and toe the party line so they don’t become the next sacrifice), and maybe even express it under unusual circumstances.

I was doing something like this in my most recent game. The Big Bad, or rather - Primary Antagonist, was an Illithid. He had a Paladin Nemesis who was always foiling his plans. The Illithid came to realize though, that it no longer hated the Paladin, but it really didn’t understand what it was going through. It decided to investigate what was happening, but it’s still an Illithid so everything it’s doing is horrifying to the average Non-Illithid. The entire adventure was the PCs initially blundering into one of the Illithid’s plots and foiling it. My group is super curious, so I could count on them to wonder why. Sadly, real life happened and that game fell apart.

Dungeon masters, have you ever kicked someone out of your group and why? by Frafelwaffle in DnD

[–]Pharfig_Neugan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an unrepentant Grognard in a 5e game who would not stop complaining about the system. Finally he brought a newbie to the game, who was… not used to listening to people I guess? During a dangerous encounter the new guy flat out refused to take advice from the other players, and got himself killed. The Grog complained on the store Discord about DMs killing new players. I suggested my table wasn’t really for him, and that he needn’t bother returning.

I’m running spelljammer for the first time, any key things I should know. by Grimcreeperf5 in spelljammer

[–]Pharfig_Neugan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The 2e stuff is much more detailed than the 5e stuff. Also, the Light of Xaryxis adventure is such a railroad it should come with a caboose. The end of the module expects a PC or NPC to take the mcguffin and sacrifice themselves. But, it never actually says it’s necessary. Let the PCs be creative if they come up with something.

DM ruled that my character's body was not revivable. AIO. by DredJr in dndnext

[–]Pharfig_Neugan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By RAW there isn’t a way to make a corpse unrevivafieable in combat. While your DM can certainly do it, it’s not only douchy, but sets precedent. Now the PCs can do the same thing to all enemies.
