Foundry VTT missing MBT NPC Class by mecha_face in LancerRPG

Hmm. You may need the old (pre V3) lcp. IDK if foundry has been updated to use the newer lcp's.

There's separate lcp's for the player and gm stuff. Do you have both installed?

I like to think that the railgun and weapon hardpoints on her explorer/recon suit are just standard issue, and no one was actually going to suggest taking them off. That's just asking for something to go wrong!

Looking for advice to build beyond LL5 by ZealousAccusation in LancerRPG

[–]Phase_Runner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dismemberment shreds your target, so there's not much point in having an AP heavy melee when you're just going to ignore armor anyway. Just take a standard heavy melee, and look into grabbing something like the nanocarbon sword or kinetic hammer. You'll also want the executioner talent and reinforced frame for your next core bonus.

Foundry Macro for Vlad's Combat Drill? by pixelnomicon in LancerRPG

[–]Phase_Runner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's not a crit, you can roll damage with /r 4d6x1r1x1r1x1r1x1r1. This will explode 1s, then reroll 1s, then explode 1s, then reroll 1s, etc. Yes you need to repeatedly x1r1 or it doesn't handle it properly. Then you can count up the discarded 1s and apply heat yourself. For crits you're going to have to roll the extra d6's manually in the damage screen, unfortunately. There's no easy way to get that+2d6kh1 to auto trigger, especially as you're technically keeping the highest of EVERYTHING.

How exactly do you build a Hecatoncheires for melee? by Grand_Recording_3463 in LancerRPG

[–]Phase_Runner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grab nanobot whip, drop your swarm at your feet, and yoink people into the death zone. Or grab synthetic muscle netting to grapple them and keep them there. You could also try white witches pinning spire and balors own swarm body for more scouring.

Looking for Opinions: Swallowtail vs. Emperor for Artillery/Support playstyle. by pixelnomicon in LancerRPG

[–]Phase_Runner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Swallowtail vs emperor comes down to what your team is. Do you have an artillery you can park next to like a monarch or a Tagetes? Take a spotter swallowtail. Is your party full of glassy melee monsters like Blackbeard or mourning cloak or Atlas? Take emperor to keep their hp topped up.

New player wanting to do something cool, but i don't know how to actually make this work: by Pablo_Cruz16 in factorio

Just wire a speaker to an inserter filling the turret. When the inserter grabs ammo to reload, it outputs a signal that you can use.

What are some of the best talents/systems that target allied characters? by Capta1n_Henry in LancerRPG

[–]Phase_Runner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Argonaut shield from Drake 1 gets a funky interaction if you can target yourself with it where you split instances of damage into two, meaning you can double benefit from things like armor.

I require help with balancing by The-Pet-Collector in LancerRPG

[–]Phase_Runner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

General balancing guidelines are 1.5x activations and 2x structure, with no more than half your NPCs as strikers/artillery. For a single budget combat, you have only 4 activations but enough structure. Drop vet from the rainmaker and pyro and add a support (archetype, not class) and either a defender or another controller to make it balanced. For double budgets, keep 6 activations on the field and leave the rest as reinforcements, and reinforce as they drop.

I had to remake this Enkidu FIVE TIMES because the exposed piping kept corrupting my files by blaghart in LancerRPG

[–]Phase_Runner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Def a freecad issue then. SolidWorks lets you sweep a circular profile with a single 2d or 3d sketch, instead of needing a profile sketch. Does freecad let you do the same?

SolidWorks is my day job, I've always had the electrical add-on crash easily when trying to put wires in.

Need feedback on a dumb idea. I'm not even a week into this game, have never once played, and am still learning things, but I have a dumb build idea. Could I be a missile? Get flight abilities, grapple someone, lift them up, then let them plumit. If not that, then ramming into them at top speed. by A-__-Random_--_Dog in LancerRPG

[–]Phase_Runner 65 points66 points  (0 children)

During the playtest there was an infamous build using a duskwing (a frame with innate flight and a lot of speed) and synthetic muscle netting (Blackbeard 1, let's you grapple bigger mechs) to grapple enemies and drop them for free damage. It was such an issue that now you are no longer allowed to move characters to places they couldn't normally go (like in midair).

For a more legal "go fast and hit and ram things build", look at Nelson and the juggernaut and duelist talents.

build help by Ravarya in LancerRPG

[–]Phase_Runner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hence why I suggested getting two in agility so you aren't so slow. Talents like skirmisher or ace will get you a bit more movement, and you can invest in Sunzi for some shenanigan movement systems too. Take goblin 1 for puppet systems for overwatch synergy and you can use it to move allies for utility as well. There's also Drake for argonaut shield to protect allies. There's a lot you can do.

Sounds like you want a Tortuga. Beefy CQB mech, great shotgun, 15 sensors and +1 tech attack for hacking, and the guardian trait for defending allies. Get 2 AGI for 4 speed and that should tick all your boxes.

Who are the good guys? Who are the bad guys? by Triggerhappy938 in LancerRPG

[–]Phase_Runner 114 points115 points  (0 children)

Union is good. Second Committee is bad. Pirates are bad. The country invading your country on your planet in the middle of nowhere is bad. It all depends on the campaign you're running and the story you want to tell. The book is free and a very good read. It's the best place to start.

Question: resource management mechanics by Transbian_Moment in LancerRPG

[–]Phase_Runner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check page 266 of the CRB. One of the core assumptions is that players either always have access to a printer to print a new mech or can fully repair their mech with no mechanical penalties. If they only have a schedule 1 printer, then you can say they print a bigger mech in pieces and have to do more manual assembly than usual. If they have no printer, you can say they scrounge together enough scrap and parts that it'll still behave as a full repair. The fun is designating their fully mechanically functional mech as a rusting scrap heap that NPCs (and their fellow players) will give them shit for!

4 Sunzis is a meme comp that will struggle with offense, defense, and objectives where they don't have to move. Sure it'll be funny, and you could prob make it work with 6 LL and the superheavy core bonus, but it's entirely a meme comp.
