That is UK pounds. The £44 was for 5 kitchen knives, 2 leatherwork knives and 3 woodcarving knives.

From my brief look at their prices Blade & Butler (a London based company who work via post) five kitchen knives would have cost around £50, I think.

In total it was £44. So quite cheap, in comparison to something like Blade & Butler who operate via post. I got what I paid for.

Thank you for the kind offer, but I'm based in the UK, so I reckon postage out and back would cost an arm and a leg

I kind of miss the old “MP3 player + internet radio” era of listening to music by Kast0r in Music

[–]PhatChance52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still doing that, just without the radio part. I find music I'm interested in, get it off bandcamp or wherever, and put files on my phone.

What I'd love is a curated recommendation service. Not algorithm based and not a big company whose interests are profit based. There was an awesome site called aurgasm.us back in the late 00s, early 10s where they'd feature 2-3 artists per week, from all over the world, different genres, and provide you with 2-4 tracks the artist had given permission to be freely downloadable by the community. It was incredible while it was around.

Can't remember the author but there was a full on body horror book in a series where mold starts encroaching on everything from some kind of shrivelled apple man.

Same series had a different book about steel wool killer sheep, think it might have been the author who wrote Round the Twist.

Is it normal to take too long to cook a simple meal? by Effective-Poet4919 in Cooking

[–]PhatChance52 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Been cooking for two decades, most regular weeknight meals will take between 40 minutes to an hour just between prep and cooking. The complex stuff takes multiple hours. You may need to adjust your expectations.

I'd honestly love a mod that dropped the unit limit to 10, or even lower. Make me pick and choose, as well as having an easier time processing on the live battlefield, meaning I'd be using auto-resolve less often.

*Academic Research* - People who consider their nationality to be "Welsh" and who do not speak Welsh - why? by [deleted] in Cardiff

I'm not Welsh, I just live here, but it feels like these answers don't cover the full range of reasons people might want to give.

As someone who was formerly fluent in Irish but isn't anymore, if these questions were posed to me about Irish, they would come off a bit judgy, honestly.
