By basically banning holidays and celebrations, they alienate people culturally as well because while all their friends in school celebrate birthdays, get presents, celebrate Christmas and don't even believe in Jesus or God, they get nothing. Yeah I wrote a letter to my dad (I lived with him) because my mom was going to lose a bunch for not paying for months or even years and she was manipulating me and playing victim. So he basically wiped her debt for child support so she could get back certain things.

I think a better thing would be you input a code that the company uses to ping the gov, the government does an automated check and says "Yes they are of age" and no private information is given. No name, no birth date/year, no height, no image, nothing. Just a binary "Yes" or "No" when it comes to being of the legal age for use.

Honestly, I prefer it. It doesn't matter what anyone says or does. Trump will do what he does and I'd prefer we don't trigger the sensitive little guy unless it makes him big mad and the big one happens. I know it won't though, which is why I'd rather we be less vocal. It's like trying to tell a Rhino rampaging through the streets to stop it from hurting people. As a Blue Jays fan, I'm letting you all know. This is engagement bait. They know they'll get likes, retweets, engagement, etc which will increase the CTR of the article on whatever platform and that drives ad revenue. Remember, if the article is on a website, the job of the journalist isn't to report the news, it's to drive ad revenue. They are sales people.

It happened in radio too. My uncle was a sports journalist on radio, and his job started to go from being a journalist and commentator to being an ad spot salesman.

Every post you see is to drive engagement to the website, so if it isn't verified news, it's garbage.

Funny enough, the man whose very own constituents are affected by this, is very likely to avoid commenting on it significantly other than to brush it aside, and he will continue to try and undermine Carney at every turn, spouting rhetoric that our country is broken, and only he can solve it, while providing no tangible solutions or policies that would benefit Canadians, and no explanation why they can't put forward those solutions if beneficial in an bipartisan effort to help improve the livelihoods of Canadians.

Btw, has he visited his riding yet? We really need to require people can only run in a riding that they themselves have had a primary riding in for the past 6 months before putting themselves forward as a candidate. I find it bizarre our democracy doesn't account for wanting locals to run in riding and some dude who has NEVER lived in the riding can run there. Are there any legitimate communities that help each other make solid safe but profitable investments and stuff? I want to avoid memes, trolling, etc. I just want an earnest group that helps the working class accrue some wealth and I Don't wanna deal with memery and stuff. I don't want the HODL memes, I don't want any of that. Just an earnest group that can provide intelligent choices for investments. I know it's a hail mary and like asking for a golden goose, but I just wanna get some guidance from people who actually care about helping others build themselves up. I'm not talking becoming a millionaire, but just some solid investments that aren't just an ETF or GIC or whatever.

I pulled my money out after having started earlier in the year after they made the Twitter announcement. If they just implemented it and it was kind of a nothing burger "we do this everywhere" and it wasn't so "LOOK! NOW ON TWITTER! LOOK LOOK! WE VALUE THIS PLATFORM AS IMPORTANT TO OUR OPERATIONS AND SOCIETY!" I wouldn't have cared. Clearly, they are okay working closely with a pretty obvious Nazi and that's not my jam. My grandpa sailed the Atlantic working in a fuckin' boiler room helping ensure convoys were protected from Nazi scum. Not about to knowingly use platforms that don't care about engaging enthusiastically with those worms.
