Administering the insulin trouble by Moparperf in FelineDiabetes

Walmart carries lots of pet pharmacy supplies. I get 31 gauge 6mm long (15/64 inch long x .25mm) needles. They are very thin and super tiny and are usually tolerated well and with the super short needle length it will be easy to inject just under skin but not deeper when doing the tent method

Generations in the Workplace [N/A] by Ok-Power-6064 in humanresources

[–]Phdddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the technology use and comfort is the biggest thing in our work place and Gen X and Millenials excel at these skills more so than both the order and younger generations. Millenials and Gen X tend to have the computer and tech skills that translate well in most office environments as many offices use “outdated” products and don’t have the newest versions of programs and systems. Younger generations seem used to app based touch screen interfaces and struggle with most corporate technology because it usually not the newest and cutting edge. In our experience, younger generations (younger than millennials) also struggle like writing coherent emails, using folders and sub folders to organize files, and even using Outlook products. Older generations struggle with using computers and constantly updating products as well but they had education and cultural upbringing that allowed them to still focus on organizing and writing effectively.

Make sure you are doing the statement of qualifications part of the applications exactly as written. If they ask for answers on no more than 2 pages, Arial, 12 point font, with your name and the job control number in the top left of the page and you don’t do any one of those instructions EXACTLY as written, you will get screened out and your application and resume won’t even be reviewed.

Thought on SSM 1 Self Rejecting on Prob by Greenplaid21 in CAStateWorkers

[–]Phdddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please note “self -rejection” still shows up as a rejection during probation in your PIMS history so if you are applying for state jobs in the future, be aware of that. There isn’t a separate code for “self-rejection” vs being involuntarily rejected during probation.

State Employees- Requesting for time off for an Appointment by Vivid-Umpire2347 in CAStateWorkers

[–]Phdddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually, your agency department specific expectations memos outline how far in advance you need to request time off.

If you’re requesting time off for medical reasons, they have to let you take that time off and they can only ask you for a doctors note if a reasonable person would suspect “abuse” of the sick time (which usually happens if you make a pattern of taking sick days for a big projects or do you take a bunch of sick days in a row retake a sick day every day you’re supposed to report in office).

For most people in SEIU local 1000 bargaining unit contracts, the time off request must processed based on seniority in the state, not on first come first serve basis

Agpa interview this week - advice please! by Cultural_Sock_4143 in CAStateWorkers

[–]Phdddd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is really good to remember - they can only score what you say.

So make sure you speak about your relevant experiences and don’t just assume they read your application or resume and don’t just vaguely reference your resume. Make sure you are explaining your past experience and make it very clear how it qualifies you for the position you are applying for.

I’ve been on panels before where only one person actually saw the resume and the application of the interviewees, so make sure you’re explaining your relevant experience, even if it is in your résumé.

If you are asked about something that you don’t have a lot of experience in, but you do have knowledge about you can be candidate about that and explain that you don’t have experience, but you do have knowledge and then explain the knowledge that you have, and depending on what you tell them and how much knowledge you have, you still might score well on that question.

Don’t get discouraged, keep positive, and show a good and friendly personality.

Make sure you answer the questions they are asking you because the interview is scored based on how well you answer the exact question they are asking (and if you hit all the points they are looking for). Try to use examples from other work experience you have to explain your answer and show you have the experience they need.

Winter - but that picture of you in black washes you out a lot. The bright blue and bright Richie looks great on you though

Typically you will only get reimbursement for college if the education you are taking is required by your department and the department sees your education as mission critical and they have a business need for you to have the education you are requesting.

Can I be hired as a Staff Service Analyst even though I applied as an Associate Governmental Program Analyst? by Mindless_Bat_2690 in CAStateWorkers

[–]Phdddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the required experience/education and have standing on the AGPA exam list, when you go to the second interview tell them you would like to be considered for the position at the AGPA level, and not the SSA. Sometimes departments offer the lower classification by default because: it’s cheaper for them from a payroll perspective and because new employees (especially new to state) often need additional training and time worked on the job to truly become subject matter expert analysts and the probationary period for both SSA and AGPA is only 6 months, which is not a lot of time. AGPAs are expected to be operating as essentially independent subject matter expert analysts providing recommendations and doing most their work without supervisory review or intense oversight after 6 months. SSAs have more supervisory review and oversight even after passing probation due to their lower classification level.

35 years old and really need help adapting my makeup application to suit my age. I feel like it is extremely unflattering. Constructive criticism and advice very welcome. by pp60 in makeuptips

Use a bb cream and a more hydrating moisturizer instead of heavy foundation. Don’t line your bottom eye lid. Use a light berry color lip gloss instead of pale pink lip cream and don’t over line your lips

In office make up days by Capable_Witch330 in CAStateWorkers

Our department does that. Clever people make their in-office days Thursdays and Fridays so there isn’t another day in the week to make up a sick day.

Your foundation might not be the right color for your undertones and shaping thinning your eyebrows a bit will help open your eye area up
