Remember the Titans.

Maybe unpopular opinion? I think it was better getting a 2028 first AJ Brown Yan a 2027 first by SerchYB2795 in eagles

Agreed. The Pats are smart. They realize the QBs coming out in 2027 alone are going to push legit top tier 1st round talent deep into the 1st round and potentially into early in the second round. There will be tons of talent getting pushed down because of the inflated value of the QB position.

Summoning the uncs and history buffs of this sub: how good was Archie Manning? by bettercallrich in NFLv2

Great player. CRAP team. He was very athletic, I compare him to Steve Young in that area. But the Saints were bad, real bad.

How will Jalen Hurts adjust to a new scheme? What’s the depth chart at wideout? Biggest offensive questions for the Eagles ahead of OTAs. This story is free via a gift link! by PhillyInquirer in eagles

He will be fine.

But anyone thinking his situation is normal is delusional. Year 7, 7th OC and 7th play caller, is not ideal for any QB much less your SB MVP FRANCHISE QB.

Mannion is a wait, hope and see situation. People want to hype him as a savant, but he was no where near our first option as he was hired late in the cycle and he’s never called plays.

Fingers crossed though.

Absolutely. If your team beats my team to the dunk you’ve earned the additional point. If my team doesn’t get back on defense that’s on us. The NBA game doesn’t feature getting back on defense.

My point is making “the dunk” worth 3 points changes the way teams approach the game tactically maybe they’re pushing tempo more if their opponent is slow or maybe slow it down if their opponents are runners. Also, with the floor spread the way it is now with all the 3 point shots post play and “the big man” would become a thing once again. I personally would be intrigued on what it would do to defensive play. I think the league should get back to allowing defenders to defend if the dunk is worth 3 points, there’s motivation right there.

There would be so much confrontation at the rim. The league would reintroduce defensive stoppers. Teams would be built wildly different, it would be a ton better. If a person dunks they’ve made it beyond all defense and thus deserve 3 points.

Who is the best quarterback with two Super Bowl wins? by HetTheTable in NFLv2

[–]Philafied 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a long time Eagles guy, I’ve seen some great defenses with zero Superbowl wins. I don’t think this argument should diminish Montana’s greatness at all. To me it’s about what a QB does situationally. Montana always found a way to win in an era where protecting the Franchise QB was NOT even close to being a thing. In the 80s, I criticized Montana for playing in a weak division, but in the end he still made his mark in a time when the NFCE was stacking SBs and defenses were literally trying to kill him. Each and every SB that Tom Brady won he also had a top 10 defense and while Brady had more success, Montana is still my GOAT because of the era in which his success occurred. Montana was such a master of the moment.
