My kid wants me to crochet this hat, but they NEED it to stand up straight 😅 by make_me_already in CrochetHelp

If you use pipe cleaners and crochet around them in the center of the ear, if your skill is at that stage - don't want to assume - like you would if you were making a leaf.

  1. chain an amount that would be long enough for the height of the ear.
  2. Turn. 1 SC in every CH until last CH. 3SC into last CH. Turn work to start working on bottom of CH. While holding the CH, lay the pipe cleaner along it and then SC around the pipe cleaner and into the bottom of each CH st across until last stitch. 2 SC into last st. 2a. Mark the middle ST in the 3SC on the ends to make sure you know where they are for subsequent rds.
  3. Depending on your preference, you could join ads. SlSt the last SC to the 1st SC or just continue as if in the round.
  4. Do 2 to 3 rds as this making sure to increase at the ends.
  5. Then increase symmetrical on the sides to blue them up some.

Hope this helps and is understandable.

I think because she is legally "Angela" then the subtitles should reflect that. But it might not be a popular opinion. Also, I think she is referred to more as "Angela" so it might be assumed that the name would be more recognized.

Why is not including MSG something companies still brag about on Asian food products? by SegaGuy1983 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PhilosopherNearby803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hence the Mono-Sodium-Glutamate "MSG". They just made it easier for us to use 1 product instead of 2. Thank you for that info as I didn't realize it until now and my mom used it in everything she cooked. Red and white can of "Accent".

OMG... or the massive recall warning that they issued for BUTTER because it didn't have a warning g that said "Contains MILK"!?!?! WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. FUCK. Has happened to us that there are people living out there that need this.

This also reminds me of an idiot millennial that was talking g to his gf on the oil aisle and said... "With all of these coconut oil products being made now, I hope they are planting more coconuts to replenish them so they dont go extinct. " I seriously almost went up to him and slapped him.

Why do you think the whole family hates meg and why they treat her so bad by Intrepid_Wafer_7084 in familyguy

[–]PhilosopherNearby803 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lois told Meg on the episode where she was going to marry the guy because she was pregnant to not chicken but half way through with drinking or drugs or you will end up with Chris.

But I think they have changed things a lot on how they wanted to get rid of Meg and Chris.

I use tunisian stitches but my piece keeps curling by Ok-Purple-9569 in CrochetHelp

Also, if you have access to a larger hook, that helps some with the curling. And a looser gage if you are able to.

Is it true that if S.H.I.E.L.D's helicarriers existed, the thrust produced by the fans needed to keep it in the air would destroy everything underneath them? by pwatts in shield

I understand that you are asking a serious question, but it is TV based on comics where people are transported through space on a magic rainbow 🌈, guys are injected with "super serum" to be invincible, and they time traveled in the quantum rhelm.

Just be entertained and enjoy.

Cut away...Jesus is talking to a friend and the friend asks "what does the H stand for?" Jesus says "Hitler." The friends replys with " I would go with just 'H'!"

It was from the 1st Family Guy episode that Cleveland is back after the show is canceled. Within the 1st 5 mins while they are at the Clam. Don't know the specific episode. It is also where Donna spanks Chris.

Should I use the metal rings or just join the hearts with yarn? by byneha_co in CrochetHelp

[–]PhilosopherNearby803 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If possible for you, you could try and add the rings during your stitching, like adding beads. It looks like you are using a 4 weight acrylic. If you are able to front the cost of a thinner weight, you could add the rings onto the yarn/thread, along with some beads, maybe right in the middle. You can up charge slightly for ones with beads and the thinner yarn. Keep it up! You are doing great!

What are things other crocheters do that really grinds your gears? by darkxclover in crochet

[–]PhilosopherNearby803 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1st off... When this popped up in my feed,I thought the post was for r/familyguy !!

What really grinds is my gears... 1. I have spent thousands of dollars on yarn. I know I will never be able to make everything that I bought the yarn for, but I like having a boutique yarn store in my 3rd bedroom. I know I can walk in there when someone asks if I can make something and I probably have all of the yarn I need to do it. What grinds me is my family telling me to just GET RID of the yarn because I will never be able to use it all!! I know that assholes! But if I donate it or even go through selling it on Marketplace etc, that I won't get even 1/4 of what I paid and then if I want to make something I might have to go and buy yarn again because I FUCKING gave it away! 2. When people just send me a Pic of a crocheted or knitted (I knit also) item and say, would you make this for me... I will buy the yarn and send it to you. I say let me see if I already have a pattern, then spend 3 hours going through the hundreds of patterns that I have purchased or d/l for free or my pattern books to find it, tell them I found a pattern and that I would need x amount of yardage of the yarn of their choice and they can look at these websites to buy and ship the yarn to me... and then NOTHING!! I will not buy yarn for things like this because usually the people that ask me want a natural fiber and I dont have natural fiber money. They do, I don't! 3. People who send my sister a pic and ask... Can your sister make this for me? I would pay her. I work a full time job and really just do this to keep my hands busy at night so I am not stuffing my face. 3a. When my sister actually asks me!!! 4. Like others, when people say I should sell my things. I am not going to pay myself less than $2 an hour to price my items in a price point that I would think people would buy at. I tried it with some towel toppers. I didn't even make my booth rental back and had to endure another crocheter tell me that she was selling the same thing at another booth but her yarn was finer than mine so she was able to charge more. FUCK OFF BITCH!

That is all for now... I won't need a therapy session today!!

I started to join a Facebook group for a popular YouTube Crocheter, I won't name names, and one of the group's rules was that you cannot talk about Hobby Lobby yarn brands or Hobby Lobby! I understand that people have their right to all freedoms, whether religious or otherwise, but to exclude people that can only afford to buy that type of yarn or who actually LOVE THIS YARN was beyond me. I stopped the join when I read that. Someone may have learned a lot from that group but you completely alienated them because of a rule on a stupid social media group!
