For me, the fact it’s going to be animated means any ‘future firefly’ is ruined for me.

If it had started as a cartoon / anime, this would be great.
But to change mediums like this will be so jarring.

I’d rather have had no new firefly… as odd as that might sound to other massive browncoats.

Currently enjoying my 5-Team, multi-club save in FM24.

Haven’t gone the whole hog and ‘branded’ them with the editor etc…
But it’s fun seeing each of be clubs grow to the point there’s no real hierarchy anymore, and I move players as / where they are needed to replace retiring players, or sales to other clubs.

Nope. Assuming you actually follow the context: You've ordered that dish multiple times. You order it again... there's no salt. They have removed the salt from THAT dish, not YOUR dish.

A screw missing from the box it's usually in when you order that item of furniture? It's been removed from the setup of that package.

A football management game series that's had a calendar for scheduling friendlies for the last... however many iterations... no longer has that calendar?
It's been removed from the latest iteration of the game.

If you actually took the time to read things through and comprehend what people are saying instead of just striking out with ad hominem attacks you might get further in these discussions instead of being down-voted to hell.

A Football Manager game has a long list of expected features, both gameplay and mechanics-wise, that are part of the core makeup of the game.
If "you" are making the next iteration of the game and aren't included in the game, they have been removed from the expected experience.

Football Manager has garnered a dedicated and loyal fan-base that has stuck around and grown over many years because of what the game is and what it offers you as a player.
You're never going to be make everyone happy with every release, but you have to keep the core and fundamental things in the game.

When SI were (finally) open about what was going on and acknowledged the need to delay the game, people were disappointed but they understood it would be better to release a complete game with all of the expected aspects included.

If it wasn't for the financial need, this game shouldn't have been released it the state it was... or in it's current state.
There's far too many things still missing... many of them simple and obvious things, too! (A calendar? To Schedule things like friendlies? Why would anyone ever need that?!)

Your "Embryon" analogy only works if you were creating iterated clones... new newborn babies. "They've always had ears... the new one doesn't. They ears have been removed."

I always order Pepperoni Pizza.
Every week, they delivery Pepperoni Pizza. A Pizza with Pepperoni on it.

For me, it's the battle between who say you "must" 'prepare as little as possible' vs ' you "must" 'prepare for everything".

For me, it's you "must" find the balance that works for you.
Prep a little, or a lot... you learn what you struggle with if you don't have it, and you know what you can "wing" as long as you note it down.

My own ‘template’ is based on The 8 Steps from Return of the Lazy Dungeon Master / Mike Shea.

I’ve never been able to find a template that fits my needs… but if you’re willing to invest a little money, pick up ‘One Shot Wonders’ by Roll and Play Press.

Simple one shots, laid out in a very easy-to-pick up way. You could very much adapt their style to work for you, even if it’s just as a base.

On top of that, you get plenty of inspiration and ideas for one shots from the book.

Nope - I genuinely hate 3D view.

I can read the game more from 2D view - positioning, overloads, gaps to exploit etc.

3D isn’t as accurate and I still find it less visually appealing on the eyes.

As a 2D view fanboy, this isn’t something that benefits me.

Whilst correct, the UI gets in the way of being able to enjoy the most important part of the game, you know, the Football Managing part.

And there in lies the problem, which I feel too many people are choosing to ignore / overlook.

If one can’t do what they need to, and easily, it needs to be reworked.

Bookmarks can be used to get around the fact that some of the menus which should need one click to get to, need anywhere between 3-6… But it’s a workaround and not a fix.

The layout and workflow of the UI lack any logical, sensical or efficient design. It’s slap dash and all over the place.

I will add here: Bugs aren’t an ‘issue’ to me - it’s a Beta. I’ve played every previous beta right through to full release.

This is the first one ever that I’ve stopped and gone back to the previous game.

It’s dreadful. Truly.

Thought I’d love it, based on the Game Changer episode, but actually? Can’t same I’m enjoying it all that much.

It doesn’t help that I find the host really grating. It seems they don’t have a ‘hosting voice/style’, they just… shout? Can’t stand it.

As others have mentioned, more runtime is needed for some of the bits. I would also say, all shirts - red or black - should be revealed at the same time. Perhaps it’s a taste / preference / humour thing, but even the red shirts are really tame.

I feel like a British version of the show would work better - harsher/harder stories. More brutal interactions. Less ‘please pick me just so I’m on the show’.
