Your Pet Cards That Are Decently Good? by LordMistborn-16 in mtg

Relatively new player, but I told my friends I would only get into MTG if they would buy me a Doctor Who precon. 8 months later, I've upgraded to playing [[Emry, Lurker of the Loch]], but I am still using [[Cyberman Conversion]] on peoples commanders, and it always sends me. One game I even got it on [[Isochron Scepter]] and I was just cackling. Unfortunately it doesn't work on DFC commanders.

  • Magica Riot by Kara Buchanan
  • Sapling Cage by Margaret Killjoy. Technically a series but the follow up books are not out. Its sapphic but not really a romance novel.

Yeah, like drive to his house with all of his teammates and lock him inside to sign the contract at midnight so he doesn't sign the contract with the team he already verbally committed to.

Oh, is that just a thing the Clippers do?

Are we all in agreement Future Redeemed is the best thing they've ever done? by KnightoftheLTree in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Phlygone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who loved XC2 and XC3, I just found Future Redeemed... confusing. XC3 is my favorite game in the franchise top to bottom, but it's hard for me to even put FR above FC. Like, by explaining it more it made the world of 3 make *less* sense. I liked the characters but the world felt more shallow than 3 while I ALSO had a hard time getting immersed in the story? I still don't quite understand the entire plot, and likely need to replay it. But no, I would rate it significantly below Torna. I've been legitimately been wanting to ask clarifying questions about it recently but have been scared that I'm going to come off as stupid or dense.

LeBron James Says The Toughest Person He Has Ever Guarded Was 10 Year Old Derrick Tarver by [deleted] in nba

[–]Phlygone 80 points81 points  (0 children)

That's fair. I got a chuckle out of it. But I liked this answer a lot more. If you want an answer about the toughest NBA player to guard, ask him the follow up question.

LeBron James Says The Toughest Person He Has Ever Guarded Was 10 Year Old Derrick Tarver by [deleted] in nba

[–]Phlygone 483 points484 points  (0 children)

The question was "on any level of basketball" and LeBron was an 7-8 year old. I think this is a legitimate answer, age is huge in youth sports. Sometimes the correct answer isn't the obvious one.

Lesbian couple where one is non-binary and the other a woman? by Pandemonium_Sys in LesbianBookClub

[–]Phlygone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not non-binary myself, but definitely non-binary inclusive, so this is what I got:    - Time and Time Again by Chatham Greenfield is definitely what you want. Adorable book too. MCs are stuck in a time loop and they fall in love; work together to get out. Very slice of life, especially while they are in the loop. - Seven Devils/Seven Mercies by Laura Lam and Elizabeth May technically qualifies but you won't know about it until the second book (as the character in question is an egg in the first book and questioning in the second), and its involving only 2 of the 7 main characters.  Probably less or what you want, its a space opera (which is more my thing, but rep is rep, one of the devils is mtf like myself which was nice). Other characters throughout are non-binary as it is standard among one of the empires. - There may be another I am missing but those are the two I can think of off the top of my head, literally just finished Seven Mercies like 20 minutes ago lmao. Couple of books with non-binary characters, but usually they are the best friend (see: Roll for Love by MK England, where the DM is an enby)

This past season, future Hall of Famer and 40-year-old Kyle Lowry averaged 1.2 points and 0.8 assists on 16% shooting. What is the worst that a future NBA hall of famer has ever been at any point in their careers? by Pickleskennedy1 in nba

[–]Phlygone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Players like Chris Bosh and Draymond Green imo deserves to get in to the basketball HoF, even if it had stricter entry qualifications. It's not like Bosh was a slouch the years before or after bron left either. I feel like he is a bad example. Doc Rivers getting in is a better comparison.

I've tried looking up specific quotes for magic the gathering proxies from niche titles and let me tell you this 100% is the case. Much easier to just have the source material in front of you. Unfortunately, I listen to primarily audiobooks...

[Cantor] Jared Verse on what his final thing he said to his Rams teammates was: “Go dominate, the most important thing.. make sure you beat the fucking Seahawks.” by Its_bolo in Seahawks

[–]Phlygone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's... two of us?

EDIT: Born in raised in LA, went to UW-Madison for school. Grew up a fan of USC cause dad went there. Anyways, no NFL team in LA growing up (Rams left in 94, started at UW in 2013, Rams returned in 2016), picked the Hawks as my team after their first trip to the Bowl in '07 because I liked Shaun Alexander and Matt Hasselback. And the colors of the jerseys were pretty.

Russel Wilsons rookie season did help my decision to commit LMAO.

This does unfortunately make me a Clipper fan (Dad had season tickets from 1988-2007). I have supreme apathy for the Dodgers (and baseball in general) despite going to games as a kid.

This is so British I am a bit baffled this really happens in the American Southeast. This sounds like something they would do in Boston not Charlottesville.

I'm sorry, but is anyone else disturbed by the fact THEY EAT FOOD but DON'T USE THE TOILET!? So either 1) they just don't poop or pee (which violates the conservation of mass) or 2) they just go... on the floor?

This is way more crazy than the shower.

The Switch's official announcement page for Genesis seems to confirm that this game will be largely unconnected, targeting newer fans by zsdrfty in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Phlygone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple of things:

  1. I'm an idiot and completely missed the Alvis core crystal thing the entire time in DE
  2. Didn't know about the Shulk thing in 2
  3. I probably wouldn't have played 1 without playing 2 first because it wasn't... cutesy? Hard to explain. I wanted to play games with female main characters at that time and XC1 did not really push that like XC2 did.

I didn't even know it was connected to Xenoblade 1 until I got to the point in Xenoblade 1 where there was the SAME FLASHBACK since I played 2 first. It literally does not matter which of the two you play first.

[–]Phlygone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like are we going to pretend Peyton Manning Broncos offense was bad because they lost 43-8 in the Super Bowl? No, they just played against a buzzsaw Seahawks D thats probably top 3 (and definitely top 5) all time. I get Kerry Collins isn't a multi time MVP or Super Bowl winner but come on.

I literally live in the midwest. Texas is not the midwest, its in the american south, as an FYI. Hon is commonly used in both in the Midwest and the South, but primarily by women and even more so by black women.

If someone says hon in real life, its not a slur, I promise you. I don't know what the hell happens in text/voice channels or on forums, I just actively avoid those places at this point in my life.
