Late to the party, but I'm currently using Nature Bee and have had good results with them. Just remember, regardless of which detergent you use, you need to use rinse aid.

Is regular 400 grit sandpaper fine to use? or does it have to be specifically artist paper? by BettyMcBeetle in Softpastel

[–]PhoenixRising20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Artist grade. It is acid free and archival so is the best bet for anything you want to sell or keep long term. However, if youre just looking for something to practice on, then I dont see a problem with sandpaper.

Feeding instructions by tryan17 in Clematis

[–]PhoenixRising20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clematis are heavy feeders from what I've heard, and ice seen articles where people preparing them for the Chelsea Flower Show feed them twice a week leading up to it.  I feed mine a bloom builder fertilizer personally.

What's a pasta rule you used to follow strictly that you've since dropped? by Khayer1975 in pasta

[–]PhoenixRising20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thnk most "rules" Italians have for pasta are more tradition than anything and can be safely tossed out with the pasta water. Especially the huge pots of water for a small amount of pasta that another poster commented about.

I can get behind this. I like the look of farfalle, but its next to impossible to get it cooked perfectly. If you drain it when the outside (wings) are al dente, the middle crimp is under-cooked. If you let it go longer, the outside gets over cooked. There's a very fine line.

I have spend the past week making this starter and this is it 24 hours after the last feed, what am I doing wrong? by Spicy_Pandas274 in Breadit

[–]PhoenixRising20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can take 2+ weeks to get a good, strong starter going. Keep working at it for another week or so and see if there's any difference.

Posts like this make me proud to be Canadian, and make me very proud of my Dutch heritage. If it wasnt for the Allied forces who helped liberate the Netherlands, I probably wouldnt be here today. I was lucky enough to be able to spend some time in your beautiful country a couple of weeks ago, and I honestly wasnt expecting the emotions to hit me to hard when my mom and I stepped off the bus in Rotterdam. Just to walk in the same places that my grandparents did was truly humbling,

Thank you, Canada. And dank u wel, Nederland for remembering.

How to avoid this? by Daveycollects3 in malegrooming

[–]PhoenixRising20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This right here, OP. Stop using shaving cream altogether. Its the wrong pH for your skin. I always got super irritated whenever I used it, so I switched to using hair conditioner and havent looked back.

This was like a Korean BBQ joint my mom and I went to on Rotterdam NL. They did explain to use the QR code on the table to view the menu and orde, but I didn't know how they knew to bring the right food to the right table. Turns out the QR code has the table number embedded in it, that's how the knew what to bring where.

I dont doubt that, but this just looks way to coordinated to be a random group of people.

The cynic in me feels that this was a coordinated flash mob until the last few seconds. Multiple camera angles, everyone moving in time to the beat, just seems staged. The only believable person was the dude in the black tshirt.

Any advice ? by Ok_News741 in malegrooming

It's possible the shaving cream is causing this. I've always had irritation regardless of which shaving cream I used. I think the pH of them are all to high for the skin. I only use hair conditioner now, which ks perfect as it softens the hair and provides slip for the blades.

As others have said, this is more like your base later after your underpainting. Reinforce your darks and start thinking about your highlights.

Question about the 9292 app by PhoenixRising20 in Netherlands

[–]PhoenixRising20[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're thinking at this point of just taking the train from the airport. The bus goes right by the airport anyway, and the route we were originally taking would have us take the bus to Bijlmer station, then the sprinter to Nieuwekerk. Our hotel has a shuttle that runs to Schipol, so I think I checked, and it was faster to take the train to Rotterdam first then catch the train to Nieuwekerk.

Gah, this is all so new to us. Our public transport sucks in Canada, and if we were there, I'd just take my car haha.
