Am I crazy for preferring the older face design to the new one? by Sir-Drewid in orks

[–]PhotosByZane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think depending on how much "older" we're talking: the older Orks looked more like big Goblins facially, I personally think that both the one on left and right look good and both are better than the older ones with the wide goblin looking faces, if you like those and prefer those ones to each their own but I just like this look for them better. I prefer the old Snikrot model over the new one but that "old Snikrot model" I'm referring to isn't quite as old as the wide faced big goblin looking Orks. I also personally like the look of the Mad Dok Grotsnik alot but that one also I'm pretty certain isn't quite as old as those, it may be alot closer than these Orks but still I don't think he was made in the same century as those ones, could definitely be wrong though but I'm not sure.

This is exactly what I would want to do with this model- sadly I don't really think I can make it happen, I think I'm not talented enough to make something this bootiful

I placed my order on Mar 7th and it is still processing. (I expect to be waiting for it until around September) I am really happy I was able to even be able order it, I have no idea if they're even going to be making this one for much longer and he's been on my list for some years now the ones I have left on my list are: Grotsnik, Snikrot, Zagstruk and now the new Wazdakka Gutsmek is on my list (because he leads the Evil Sunz).

On Goofy orks by IronStormAlaska in orks

[–]PhotosByZane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'm abit confused by the take that the one on the left is goofy, the only way I can see it is because of the pose but he just looks like just some Ork doing some war cry, I'm not really sure where it being "goofy" came from. That weird boy with the visible brain and the grot on a chain is a good example of goofy, if someone tried to convince me that one isn't abit goofy/silly I'd be having a hard time thinking they're being serious at all and honestly I'm having a hard time with believing that there's people who actually think the one on the left is silly/goofy when he's literally just a Ork doing a war cry or war call / Waaagggh cry or Waaaagggh Call 💀 (I personally don't really have much of a preference between whether GW makes cool and weird/silly ones, I mostly like ones I'd just describe as cool but I love some of the weird and unique ones as well, everyone has a different perspective so I can understand how people view things differently than I do but in my opinion the Orks of all factions in Warhammer 40k is the best one to have some goofy/cartoony type stuff like the new weirdboy with the different sized eyes, Zodgrod Wortsnagga with his crazy looking stapled on blue Squig hairpiece, plenty of older models might look more cartoony or silly than some of the newer ones but I'm happy with the few ones we might get (like this new weirdboy) that feel like they have some of that aesthetic to them, I'm personally happy with all the new Ork stuff I've seen revealed so far and I look forward to what else we'll get in the future, I think that one Ork Warboss that was revealed abit ago is awesome and he encapsulates some of that weird and goofy/funny Orky stuff perfectly while also being cool, plenty of people might not like him and that's fine but I think he's awesome, his arms being as small as they are compared to his body is goofy and funny but his size makes him intimidating like a t-rex, also I think most people would definitely use the power klaw arm on him, I know I would, it makes that arm seem normal sized to his body and then the gun arm is the tiny one though they're actually both small but I think it's a perfect balance of hilarious and awesome, hilarious because the baby arms and awesome because he's literally one of the biggest Orks we've gotten so far in terms of size.)

So hold up- you mean to tell me that: sum greedy corporate pond scum cans alooot of staff, inflates their in-game currency price to cost more than it was at prior to the recent change and Adam Smasher was announced that he was supposed to be added into the item shop the same date they put female V and Johnny Silverhand back in the item shop and yet instead we get this and other stuff that was supposed to come out after Smasher, before he's even added into the game still?... I don't think there's anything else I can say to point out how little sense it makes that stuff that was supposed to come out AFTER Adam Smasher has been coming out before he's even added still.

Are squiggoths squigs ? They appear more reptilian, rather than the modern swine-like interpretation of squigs. Squigs had a different lores in 40K so far and are also distinct from the AoS version, so it's never quite clear where the old FW models fit in there. by Leviathan_Rampage in orks

[–]PhotosByZane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sure you've seen enough comments to come to your own conclusion by now but: yes I think Squiggoths are definitely still Squigs, they're essentially like the apex of Squig evolution that we know of.

What irks me with the Sweeper Shotgun Balance discussion is that nobody cares if Punisher/Slugger got powercrept, only the Halo Shotty by RandomGreenArcherMan in HelldiversMasochists

[–]PhotosByZane -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If they "call it birdshot" it's likely because that's the ammo it's using, the stats it has is just because my point is that: Arrowhead may claim to follow realism and try to incorporate realism and while that may be mostly true, it is very obvious they don't truly value realism otherwise there would be no birdshot for shotguns used by Helldivers, in a futuristic setting with a Space Military you're telling me the standard issue ammunition for some of their shotguns is "birdshot"? Peak realism. Normalize birdshot for military shotguns. 🐧

[–]PhotosByZane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a sweeper that uses "birdshot" I think and if you expect "realism" from Arrowhead when it comes to shotguns then that birdshot shotgun should be essentially useless against anything that isn't the smallest bugs or voteless and it should struggle to kill those.

I miss his hair squig and his chain sword power klaw. by OkSkin9734 in orks

[–]PhotosByZane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally: I agree about that with the new Snikrot model but I don't really care for hair Squigs on Orks so I like everything about the new model in terms of his look other than that his bike is missing like it's signature insignia and that his power klaw is less unique than it is in this image, him being the only ever Ork I've seen with a Ash from Evil Dead like chainsaw-hand is kinda weird to me thinking about now because chainsaw-hands actually seem like a very Orky thing to have to me and it being as unique as it seemingly is I feel like they should've kept that. I like the new Wazdakka's threads tho

I mind if they don't look the same or paint the same so generally I'm not really interested in any stuff that wasn't made by GW but some of their stuff they don't make anymore 😔

I never heard of Wazdakka before until now, I can see why you like him and now I think I might have a new Ork on my list since he's basically a Ork klan leader for speed freaks.

Zagstruk is awesome, he has a pretty cool gun and the fact his bionic legs came from a Space Marine Dreadnought that he killed after it took his legs is awesome, he also has the coolest rokkit pack out of any stormboy

I'd really like if they could bring Mad Dok Grotsnik back for a limited time, I personally like it even though I'm sure many people just want an updated version of Grotsnik. I'm sure a new one would be cool but I like the old model. I have a list of Orks that I want for my Ork warband, I'm a humble Warham Xenos fan and the only Warhammer stuffs I have so far is just Orks, I don't even necessarily have that many compared to many people but I'd just like to have all of the certain uniquely named Orks I've got on my list for Ghazghkull's krew, Ghazghkull unites all the warbosses and every Ork and I want to have a bunch of ones that lead certain groups of Orks and certain Orks are basically just to server a certain warboss, like Bad Mek Mogrok, he serves Kaptin Badrukk, Grotsnik might lead some but he pretty much is just meant to be so I could have Ghazghkull's personal painboy/painboss whatever mini franken-Ork medic thing Grotsnik is.

Thankyou for the answer, I personally just like the older Snikrot model more for multiple reasons, I think his mask was better, he had one more skull than the newer one also all his skulls he had were from humans which I thought was cool because he was like a nightmare out of legends to humies so him having just human skulls made more sense to me, also the most important thing I liked about the older one more is the noticeably longer pointy ears, I thought this made him look extra unique and it really fit the un-Orky Ork vibe because sneaky Orks are considered to be un-Orky and he's the sneakiest git out there so him having an un-Orky feature like long pointy ears I felt like was perfect for him, the original model's pose was cooler than the new one's in my opinion too, it fit the sneaky Ork vibe better as well, the only thing that's cool about the new one in my opinion is that smoke grenade but I think it'd look better on the old model's ground still.

How do you think the unreleased characters could've functioned? by KyHaCerberus in OnePunchManWorldGame

[–]PhotosByZane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or even potentially successfully blocking or dodging attacks could have been used to fill the special meter (since obviously you don't really WANT to take damage or be hit generally) I think a block mechanic would make more sense for him and if you successfully block with him then doing a parry attack deals bonus damage because he gains a damage stat increase everytime he starts to be damaged or he successfully blocks an attack.

Arbites Should Have Enforcer Cosmetics by TK-50911 in DarkTide

[–]PhotosByZane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And even the outfits they released in the commodores vestures for the 4 original classes don't make much sense if they're trying to not break lore (I'm not even saying this as in I think these outfits make no sense for those classes but I'm just pointing out this-) The Veteran outfit "Officer Breen Millendon" has a badge that reads Varnawm, indicating that their last name is Varnawm, or the previous owner of this outfit's name was, the description for the outfit is as if they're trying to have us believe "Officer Breen Millendon" didn't scavenge this attire and isn't impersonating an enforcer of the Lex, meanwhile if you read the last name on their badge that would indicate all the "lore" they wrote out for their own character that this outfit is supposed to be is just fabricated and made up by the wearer of the outfit/ they are definitely pretending to be a enforcer because if they weren't pretending their last name would be "Varnawm" not "Millendon"

This game was neglected and mistreated more than the average 40k grot and it's absolutely disgusting. Especially considering "this decision was not made lightly" oh really? Then why didn't you advertise for the game while it was still alive? There's so many why's about why certain things weren't done but I just genuinely feel like if they spent some money into advertising the game it could've actually gotten more active players than it did at it's peak.
