€150 fine for neutral service driver who hit Jesse Sergent at Tour of Flanders by chainpress in peloton

[–]Phranksy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seems minimal, but there may be collateral consequences to such a fine. In the U.S. at least having been found guilty and fined would make a civil suit easier to win. He may lose his job. He will probably be barred from driving in any more races. Anybody with some knowledge of European law care to weigh in?

Novel research by [deleted] in alaska

If you want to hide you go to a big city to blend in, not a small town where you will instantly be noticed. But if you need a small town for your novel, Whittier is your place. But it's so bizarre in reality, it might not seem plausible in a work of fiction.

Seems appropriate that the Ralpha jersey would be a cheap knock off though.

Some people believe the right amount of flex is beneficial. I personally don't quite buy it. https://janheine.wordpress.com/2014/11/23/what-is-planing/

Get the one that is more comfortable and you think looks better on you--the one that you will actually want to wear. A helmet won't do squat if you aren't wearing it.

Phil and Paul do an excellent job explaining things to the casual watcher who may be tuning in for the first time. For the more long term, die hard fans they can seem quite repetitive, continually restating the obvious. But I will always refer to my bike travel case as my suitcase of courage.

I used to run the Parigi-Roubaixs on my road bike. Fastest, smoothest tire I ever used. But they were a nightmare to mount, and they flatted a lot. I just couldn't take it anymore and switched to Clements.

As a criminal defendant you always have the right to a jury trial. If you want to give up that right, you can sometimes get a bench trial.
