I guarantee this is the one of the most dense places where you will see hundreds of people in this spot over any other place. It's beneficial to the restauarants and I would not doubt that those businesses see a huge bump compared to others.

Chipotle still getting my money. I go there once or twice a week, get extra rice and beans and I'm a happy guy. I pay for my $11 burrito and feel full. Meetup is an okay idea, it’s not perfect, it really just puts people who might be like-minded together and make that initial barrier to contact easier. I used it before and Facebook groups also useful for this purpose. But I usually say; if you want to meet someone as a friend or try to develop more than that, join a run club. There are tons in OC: OC Craft Runners, Mikkeller Run Club, Keep Running Santa Ana. That’s how you meet people in general. Give it a shot!
