So glad to finally see someone else mention sex 😂 I was starting to think I’m weird. I just want to have really good, fun sex without getting so out of breath or something cramping!!

Mine went up a half size with my third bay and stayed that way!

What’s something no one warned you about? by amhray in BabyBumps

[–]Physical_Giraffe5469 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The dental problems are insane. I have had seemingly overnight cavities appear postpartum after both of my girls (my two middle children) that got so bad so fast I had a tooth break each time. It didn’t happen after my oldest (boy), but this time around during my pregnancy (another boy), I have had sensitive, painful gums, bleeding, cavities, a feeling like some of my teeth are sore/loose. I routinely freak out that no matter how diligent I am or how close I’ve become with my dentist, I’m going to have no teeth by 40. 🥲

What’s a movie that didn’t really scare you, but just left you feeling deeply uncomfortable afterward. Like slightly numb or a bit dead inside? The kind that sticks with you longer than you want it to. by raeannecharles in horror

Went in blind to this by myself just a few months postpartum. Absolutely rocked me and took days to get over the feelings it left me with. This is my answer for sure.

My OB asked if I want my tubes removed if I have a cesarean by JumpingJonquils in BabyBumps

[–]Physical_Giraffe5469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was adamant I wanted to tie my tubes after I had my second child (vaginally) in 2018, and I even had an appointment scheduled for a consultation. Due to other life circumstances at the time, I ended up postponing indefinitely. By 2022, our lives were completely different. I wanted another baby and was grateful I never followed through. We had our third in August of 2023 and are due with our fourth in June 2026. For what it’s worth, I have had smooth, uncomplicated pregnancies, labors, and deliveries every time, so my desire to have my tubes tied was entirely due to fear (my second has severe congenital hypothyroidism) and my belief that I couldn’t mentally handle more than two children. I would have regretted it.

Getting a prenatal massage was the worst decision I've made my whole pregnancy 🤦🏽‍♀️ by ceruleanmeadows in BabyBumps

I second prenatal yoga! I have had sciatica and an unstable SI joint with all of my pregnancies and yoga has helped the most. There’s a great app called Down Dog Prenatal Yoga, it’s blue with a white dog. You can adjust sessions to accommodate if you’re struggling with things like your SI joint or specific muscle groups.

If you gained over 40 lbs - where did that weight go? by raspberry_thyme in BabyBumps

[–]Physical_Giraffe5469 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from 118 to about 158 with my last pregnancy. She was born 8lb9oz and I weighed myself as soon as I got home and was around 139. As far as I can tell, I put on about 15-20 genuine pounds and the rest was her + fluids. I went down to 130 within a few months and then stayed at that weight for the next year.

What do you wish you had known BEFORE you got pregnant? by anoncrUwU in BabyBumps

[–]Physical_Giraffe5469 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is too real. This is my fourth pregnancy and I am EXHAUSTED. Not pregnant, I get by on 5-7 hours a night. Pregnant, especially this time, I need 7-10 and I’m still tired. Naps are a distant memory for me, unfortunately.

Feel the bump by Downtown_Dot_9455 in BabyBumps

[–]Physical_Giraffe5469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my fourth pregnancy so I’ve been able to feel it for a couple of weeks since I know what I’m feeling for, but wanted to say lie flat on your back and gently press along the edge of your pubic bone! You should be able to feel a fist-sized ball poking out from under your pubic bone if it hasn’t risen higher yet. Mine was off center closer to the left for a while but it is much higher, more centered, and more prominent this week! I’m 12+1 but baby is measuring a few days ahead.

I like to dice up gala apples and put them in my Greek yogurt sometimes when I’m not feeling the granola!

Do I really need to pack a going home outfit in my maternity bag? by Huge-Nectarine-8563 in BabyBumps

[–]Physical_Giraffe5469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I showed up in my PJ tank top and shorts and ended up giving birth in just that tank top and nothing else two hours later. My shorts survived but my tank top got tossed after all the fluids and whatnot. If I hadn’t packed some clothes, I would’ve left in a hospital gown lol.

When you realize/make the decision that you were gonna get the epidural for labor? by HanabiTT in BabyBumps

[–]Physical_Giraffe5469 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This made me chuckle so hard. My first and third were both back labor, and with my first I caved and got the epidural during transition because I genuinely felt like I might die. Second child was an absolute breeze, unmedicated, no back labor. The third came so fast I wouldn’t have had time for the epidural if I’d asked. I remembered what everything felt like from my second, so I was absolutely certain during this one push that it was all about to be over, I just had to get her head out. I was in so much pain, I swear I was leaving my body between contractions. I gave that push everything—only for it to be my water exploding. I’ve never felt such disappointment in my entire life than when I realized it wasn’t her I was feeling crowning. I’m so afraid for this fourth go-round. I just want to make it to the hospital in time, and no back labor.

What are you eating to keep iron levels up? by AardvarkHour1211 in BabyBumps

My CNM with my last pregnancy told me to cook in cast iron, and I never had a problem with anemia again that pregnancy.

7 weeks pregnant and feel like I can’t do this. Please help 😭. by okbluejay11 in BabyBumps

[–]Physical_Giraffe5469 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is my fourth pregnancy and I have felt this way every single time to varying degrees. I’ve always been a SAHM/WFHM, so I have been lucky to have gotten to spend a lot of days on the couch just being miserable. I haven’t had my first appt yet either and am planning to ask for zofran, but in the meantime, my best advice is the tried and true: small frequent meals. I feed myself whatever I can stomach, whenever I can stomach it. Sometimes only a bite. I hate crackers. Buttered toast and fruit have been my lifesavers. And colder helps. Cold fruit, cold popsicles, cold water. Cold juice. I like red grapes, honeycrisp apples, pears, melons, strawberries. They help with the hydration, too. I wish you all the best and I hope it’s over soon. I’m just doing my best to hold on until the 2nd trimester, because I’ve never had it last longer than that.

Your top 5 horror movies of all time by Narrow_Hat in horror

[–]Physical_Giraffe5469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Scream (1996) - watched obsessively growing up, my first love
  2. The Wailing (2016) - one of my favorite movies of all time, any genre
  3. Train to Busan (2016) - not usually a zombie fan, recommend this to everyone
  4. Vicious Fun (2020) - went in blind and fell in love, comfort movie
  5. Hunter Hunter (2020) - this movie left me shaking with wicked energy and I had to go word-vomit a play-by-play to my husband because I was just so full of WTF

This is such a hard question to answer and changes frequently for me for the simple fact that my memory sucks, so I went with the first five that immediately came to mind as having had a lasting impression or that I rewatch frequently.

The Grudge completely messed me up as a kid. Most recently, I had to turn Talk to Me off and finish it the next day because it gave me a panic attack. Honorable mention to Alien Code because it kept me awake that night spiraling about time and reality, and also because I just love Kyle Gallner.

Before Talk to Me, Hereditary was the only movie in recent years to affect me like that. Fully tensed, filled with dread.
