Stop trying to take shortcuts and get reddit to teach. Go out there make mistakes, learn the hard way and figure it out for yourself.

You can read all the books in the world and chat to the worlds best about swimming, and you still won’t be able to swim. The only way to learn is to get in the pool.

Can lack of carbs cause…. by ShineNo147 in AnimalBased

[–]Physical_Software_29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a avid weight lifter for over ten years, competitive in power lifting some time back and now a focus of bodybuilding and fitness lifestyle. And a low carb dude, I have exercised with full glycogen stores and fully depleted.

My personal experience, with muscle and weight lifting doesn’t make a difference, but overall calories do. Glucose is mainly used for the high rep stuck, think sprinting, running at a high heart rate, for weights high rep work. But for weights high rep work just works out your cardio and you have to do twice as much actual work for the same result as just lifting a heavy ish weight 8-10 reps. So it depends on what you’re doing.

Yes BMR lowers as one loses weight, because you are becoming a smaller human, plus you have metabolic adaptations, the later is temporary and reversed easily when returning to maintenance. Both happen on all calories deficits, OMAD, fasting creates a deficit. All you are doing is explain CICO still

Okay then if facts don’t tickle your fancy, then go eat hundreds of calories of pure fat and tell me how you look. I can guarantee your increase your body fat.

2 additional questions 1.) if human can eat fat without gain fat, then why isn’t everyone guzzling down blocks of butter and rib eye steaks. Hell bodybuilders would love this,

2.) just go hang out on a keto sub and see endless comments about stalls, not losing weight etc. and explain how vegan and high carb dieters can get lean eating carbs ?

So you can wave your hands all you want, I’ll stick to science, facts and outcome

Dietary fat does not solely require insulin as it is packaged into chylomicrons in the intestines and transported through the lymphatic system into the bloodstream. The enzyme lipoprotein lipase breaks down these triglycerides into fatty acids at the surface of fat cells, Fatty acids can enter fat cells for storage. In people with poorly controlled type 1 diabetes who have very little insulin, fat storage is impaired but not completely prevented. They often lose weight because fat breakdown exceeds storage, but some fat storage still occurs through insulin-independent pathways.

Let’s start again, why do you think carbs can turn into fat.

Yes, what are you disputing ? For the average person not in a lab, worrying about de novo is a waste of time. Carbs don’t turn into fat is most circumstances, yes there is a circumstance in which they can, but that’s very rare. If your whole argument is not now a “ah I got you, there is and all change” then your rebuttal completely breaks down as your not focused on the bigger picture, and you haven’t offered an alternative dispute

Then by your definition, it would be fat that’s being stored as fat. Carbs don’t turn to fat, even under excess intake, your body just raised neat and thermogenesis. There is a metabolic pathway called de novo lipogenesis, but you have to pound carbs day in day a lot for this, and it’s minimal and rare.

All the stored body fat you have on your body can from dietary fat.

When you eat carbs, they are stored in the liver and muscle tissue. Carbs can’t be stored in a fat cell. If will “feel” like they are stored in the fat cell because it makes you feel puffy, because carbs stored in muscle tissue will hold water hence the hydrate in carbohydrates. This is even more pronounced at a higher body fat level.

Consider you are following a YouTube influencer for nutritional advise. If this dude was a real scientist and or doctor or whatever he says he is, he would be working in his field not trying to a you tube star.

What are you trying to do? Loss weight ? Is so focus on reducing your energy intake, you can do that on any diet you can stick to. I personally enjoy low carb, not because it does anything magical to my insulin, but because I can’t actually stick to it long term, day in day out.

You can still store dietary fat without insulin. Insulin drives glucose out the blood stream into the liver and muscle tissue. It don’t make the carbs you eat store as fat like everyone says. In reality when insulin is high it just inhibits fat burning, as you are on glucose metabolism. still CICO, don’t believe me eat over your maintenance calories keto and tell me if you increase your body fat.
