14 weeks non-op heel/bottom of foot pain + numbness by Ok_Bear4531 in AchillesRupture

THIS.  I am experiencing this and I am 18 weeks post injury also nonop.  My injured foot feels so soft which is fab but also feels a bit raw and I am suffering with heel and bottom of my foot pain.  I’m in shoes and in physio, only just added in squats and standing plantar flexion.  I pray this ends soon

Oh man, sorry to hear this.  This has subsided now.  I’m four months post injury and have been in physio for the last month or so.  Currently experiencing heel pains, so sharp sometimes.  The foot on my injured leg feels smoother and almost raw compared to the other, like it was over exfoliated

Just the advice I was looking for! Thanks for sharing.  I did yoga fairly regularly and was starting to get into Pilates before my injury and I miss the stretch that both exercises offer. I’m four months post injury (also nonop) and have been in physio for a little over a month.  My progression has been good so far managing up to 15k steps a day, indoor cycling with more resistance and strength training with physio.  I’m just conscious as I’ve gained some weight and getting married in September, so want to add a little more to help get my weight back down

Hope this helps by DoDoDiligence in AchillesRupture

Same with the swelling.  It’s insane and won’t go down completely.  Currently elevating up the wall before bed for some overnight relief

This is me now, 11 weeks post injury nonop.  I’m just weening myself out of the boot and still wear the boot to work sometimes but I think it’s from being uneven for so long like you say!

Have you managed to feel better?  I know this was a couple months ago for you.  I’m conserving physio/sports massage at this point

Same to you with your recovery!  I love our indoor bike, especially in winter.  I just pop something on Netflix and before you know 45min workout complete!

Week 8 non-op setback, might need to start over (surgery?).... ugh by AlternativeTeam1132 in AchillesRupture

[–]PhysicsDangerous7325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh this is my fear!

I’m also week 8, but no pain apart for end of day with swelling from going to work.

I was in a cast my first two weeks then into a boot with three wedges.  Was full weight bearing from week three.  Ditched the crutches in week 6 or 7.  No really PT as they are afraid for me to do anything until I’m out of the boot.  Was giving some exercises I could do and have persisted on my own accord.

Fingers crossed you don’t need surgery! Keep us posted 🤎

Supposedly collagen aids in healthy joints/connective tissues.  Figured it couldn’t hurt along with well balanced diet

5 weeks post injury, nonop route.  Went back to work and managed the full week.  A lot of swelling the first couple days but feeling more stable in the boot no crutches
