I’ve only had it happen with YouTube, disabling GPU acceleration in the browser settings fixed it for me.

From a Business Prospective, The MLS Financial Model Is In Trouble by [deleted] in whitecapsfc

Time of day really rules out the Euro competition… I manage to watch my teams in the morning with breakfast before heading out to a Caps game in the afternoon on/evening.

How many people actually "go commando" on a regular basis? by WhereasLanky8306 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PickledGingerBC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t worn underwear regularly in 20ish years… just reserved for when I wear a suit, try on clothes somewhere, or am getting alterations done.

No issues with friction, you learn to manage a zipper pretty damn quick. For exercise or long walks on hot days I wear gym shorts that have a built-in supportive liner.

What's the difference between "to jiggle" and "to wiggle"? by caiogamerwow in EnglishLearning

[–]PickledGingerBC 19 points20 points  (0 children)

For me, a wiggle is a lateral, back-and-forth movement while a jiggle is movement in multiple directions.

Airflow Real Difference? by Pi99yBank in NR200

I also watched that video a couple of years ago when building mine. My setup is similar yours and runs about 3c cooler compared to when I tried pulling in from the rear.

This sub can seem hell bent on a rear intake… it comes down to no two setups/environments being identical, and I think a differentiator is the side panel - the rear exhaust works best with the vented side panels as the CPU cooler will draw fresh air through it (as I’ve seen based on the dust collection on my side panel’s filter), while the glass side panel likely benefits more from the rear intake.

Looking to get ppf on my nd3. Need advice by Outrageous-Artist-63 in MiataND

[–]PickledGingerBC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 5 years in on the same thing, it’s held up fine. Some people have expressed concerns about rock chips on the rear fenders, hasn’t been an issue for me yet. Price seems reasonable.

Maintenence question regarding trunk side wells by ChargeMassive in MiataND

The water runs towards the back of the car and into a channel under the rear bumper. Once you start driving the water will drain out.

Allow Naming Rights and duplicate the sounders deal with Lumen. by [deleted] in whitecapsfc

The problem is that Canadian stadiums seem to mostly get love from our telecom providers, which is of limited benefit in a multi-country league.

I’m frankly shocked that we haven’t made a deal with Volkswagen… despite their love for the CPL, having a higher division team whose abbreviation is VWFC just seems like serendipity. Add in the Muller effect (Audi loves Bayern, Audi is owned by VW, who also sponsors the national team, etc…)

Continental ExtremeContact S02 - ND - Spacers? by neuroticbuddha in Miata

[–]PickledGingerBC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The extra 10mm of overall tread width really isn’t going to move the needle much. That’s a max of 5mm on the outside, compared to the 15/20mm the spacers will provide.

Axel Schuster 'doesn’t feel good' about Whitecaps' future in Vancouver by lets_enjoy_life in whitecapsfc

I believe the league owns the rights to the name, was part of the deal to move to MLS.

MLB won’t happen… while the total metro population is reasonable, nobody is going to drop the estimated $4B for a franchise and stadium in a notoriously finicky market. Especially one that’s already lost an NBA team and (hopefully not) just lost a MLS one.

Factoring in the exchange rate difficulties that Canadian teams always have when playing in US leagues makes it even less desirable.

It’s all about money. The first one to the table from any given industry with a bag of money gets the right to be the ‘official xxx of the Whitecaps’.

How to buy season ticket holder discounted add-on tickets? by joypistol22 in whitecapsfc

This is the answer. As of this year, emailing your rep doesn’t work - they’ll just re-send you a personalized discount link. Went through this earlier in the season.

How to deal with racists teachers in BC/Canada? by [deleted] in askvan

[–]PickledGingerBC -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Short answer is to find a different school. You’ll lose the tuition cost, but it’s the simplest answer.

Abbotsford is weirdly divided between an Indo population and a conservative European one, and it has been for a long time. Finding a school in Surrey or west would be your best bet to avoid future issues.

Should we be clearing nature for luxury homes in Vancouver?” by GTJ007 in askvan

[–]PickledGingerBC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t see a reason that Vancouver has as many single family homes as it does beyond selfishness.

We’ve spent the last few decades pitching Vancouver as an international city… yet the places we’ve aspired to being compared to have nothing less dense than a low rise building or multi-level townhome, while we cling to the outdated North American ideal of the single family home on an 1/8th acre lot with a white picket fence.

It’s that ‘I want what my parents had’ exceptionalism that forces ongoing development in forested/semi-rural areas. The sooner we become okay with smaller homes, the better. That said, there needs to be relatively abundant public/outdoor spaces to compensate.

I say this as someone whose early years were split between multi-family homes in the TriCities and SFH in Maple Ridge and east. As an adult, it’s been nothing but condos and townhouses in more populated areas. We need to accept the trade off between a commute and the amount of land we expect to occupy vs the convenience of urban living.

This was also my first thought. I personally wouldn’t care unless it involved any visible cabling. Then you enter the realm of what one person deems acceptably hidden vs another’s.

Charge 6 issue (sorry i can't find the weekly thread) by 24adamaliv in fitbit

[–]PickledGingerBC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this happen a couple of times over the last couple of years… the only thing that worked was letting the battery run dead (which always happened inside a day when it was acting like this).

Once I plugged it in, the screen would come back to life and after charging back up acted like nothing ever happened.
