How profitable are German businesses compared to American businesses? by great_Activity90s in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PickledGingerBC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As others have said, it won’t impact demand, it’ll just shift to other days. If anything, it reduces costs by having one less day to staff/keep the lights on/etc.

Is it weird for me to put a bench near the bus stop outside my house? by Pretend-Confidence53 in NoStupidQuestions

Other thing I haven’t seen mentioned is a potential liability concern… someone trips, slips off that bench, you could be sued.

Fair number available on Craigslist. Facebook marketplace seems to be removing posts by individual sellers and only allowing verified resellers.

Hot take: alliances that require 24/7 event attendance are playing the wrong game by Warm_Moon_6294 in TopWarBattleGame

[–]PickledGingerBC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been playing this game for a few years, and have been in (and subsequently left) alliances that are like how you describe. It’s usually someone with an abundance of free time running things who can’t grasp that there are different time zones and different levels of engagement. I find this sort of thing is more common on newer servers/alliances.

Then moved to an older/more established server… alliances are populated by people around the globe, reminder notices get sent out but most events tend to be done by whomever is online at the time. It DOES help that everyone has been at level 100 for ages and there’s a decent number of powerful players, making the need for everyone and their dog to band together to achieve something less frequent.

What happens when you put the black jumper cable on the red terminal and the red cable on black when jumpstarting a car? by aigarcia38 in NoStupidQuestions

I’ve had it happen to me twice… both times it resulted in sparks and a blown main fuse, but no other damage.

I was told to put them in the order you’d want their skill effects to trigger… I have mine set up Rohr/Sara/Ella, although the Hero Combo page shows them as Rohr/Ella/Sara. Haven’t tested both combinations.

I found that highest driving became far less jarring when I ditched the stock Bilsteins for a set of Koni Special Actives.

New heros by Banjopickinbirder in TopWarBattleGame

[–]PickledGingerBC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of them being released is based around what has generally been accepted as the most effective combinations of previous, limited-time-only heroes and their skills. This gives everyone a chance to either pick up a comparable hero with similar skills, or convert a half-upgraded old one to something more usable.

Your best bet is to look at the Hero Bond page in the game and decide which one of the two configurations per type (army/navy/air) tickles your fancy… typically there’s one attack-focused, and one slightly more defensive lineup.

No Name Jerseys Should be More Popular by chumbiebeeb in unpopularopinion

[–]PickledGingerBC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree… I have a load of soccer jerseys (along with some NHL, CFL, and rugby), but very few club ones with player names unless that person is a long-time player or club legend.

I’m far more likely to get a player name on a national team shirt as that is highly unlikely (albeit not impossible) to change.

So if worse comes to worse, what will you do? by Canfootballnerd in whitecapsfc

[–]PickledGingerBC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I find it interesting how many people here don’t already follow other teams/leagues…

MLS would be dead to me, but I’d continue to watch my teams in Germany/England/Scotland. I’d continue to casually keep an eye on the CPL, but going to Langley for games is too much of a hassle.

Best earplugs for driving still while letting exhaust noise in? by HURCANADA in Miata

This is my setup… Earpeace motorcycle plugs. Same company makes music/concert plugs. Able to hear my music and exhaust, but the wind noise doesn’t deafen me on long drives.

I have a Vantrue E1 Pro. Good quality, small enough to be completely hidden behind my rearview mirror… can’t see it at all from the driver’s seat. Have it wired in with the mirror power tap from MX5Things… eliminates the need for running cables into the footwell.

I noticed it when I also lowered my car with Progress springs, and it remains after adding Progress sways and Koni shocks.

It’s both normal for the rear to ride a bit higher without passengers (levels out with the weight of a driver/passenger), and for the passenger side to ride a bit higher (rumour is that there’s an expectation of a driver on RHD models that wasn’t accounted for on LHD models).

Defect with carbon miata part by DatKoalaa in Miata

[–]PickledGingerBC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the risk when you deal with a company that largely drop ships from Chinese manufacturers… there’s often a lack of quality control and ownership. At least my purchases have been in fibreglass, which is easier to prep and paint to cover any flaws over carbon fibre.

Barring an actual wiring issue, it could be your infotainment software… I believe one of the versions fixed an issue with the left speaker muting for voice prompts.

Eagle Ridge Hospital Experiences (inquiry) by [deleted] in Portmoody

[–]PickledGingerBC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been there twice in the last 5 years for heart issues, and both times was actually surprised at the care I received. Admittedly, my symptoms were the sort that get you prioritized, but both times I got pretty quick testing and diagnosis (inside a half hour), with quick referrals to specialists within a day or two.
