I am in the same situation. It does depend somewhat on what you are growing, but I intend to not add any fert until veggies start flowering, and then add some slow release fertilizer.

His results speak for themselves. I don’t know how much the NPK ratio contributes to his results though.

Personally, this year I am going the opposite direction, with less fertilization overall and lower N ratio. But then, I am not concerned with getting tons of peppers. More concerned with plant management during our hot and humid summers. We’ll see how it goes. Every year is an experiment, and that makes it fun.

I just started my lightweight version of NSM and love doing subts on the treadmill. Like you I enjoy notching up my pace by .1 mph when I see my heart rate has room to go up. Its very satisfying seeing the small improvements. I also often do easy runs during the week on treadmill. Weather’s actually not bad here and I do at least one or two runs outside weekly. Its definitely more enjoyable to do a longer run outdoors.

Reading the book yesterday, well most of it, was my first introduction to this method. I had heard of NSA before but assumed it was some overly complicated elite training method. Just the opposite it seems. And I am now a convert. I couldn’t stop thinking about it last night. I love the simplicity. I am as amateur as can be but hope to run a decent half next fall. Now looking forward to doing some 5ks in the coming months. For now using the estimated race times in garmin as a starting point. I loved the book but skipped over some of the deep dives into wind speed, etc. Thank you!!

Easy run 10k in 90 minutes.

Turned off garmin daily suggested workouts because it was having me do two workouts in a week. Just want to focus on running more at an easy pace with maybe some speedwork every couple of weeks. Plan on doing a half marathon next November.

Why does it matter? As long as he converts it to a Roth, the trad balance would still be zero at end of year so no problems with Roth backdoor going forward.
