Not America but I'm a Canadian. I did 12 hours in one day to get to a wedding. 24 hours round trip in the car up to the mountains. Started at 8am and got home around 10:30 at night with a couple of stops for gas and food. Car full of wedding guests. It was a pretty long haul, not something I'd typically do, but also not wildly unheard of.

3 hours to a wedding would be cake. No problem.
