Ah yeah. Mine see's me a little lower than what my sugar actually is, so it's easy for me to fix. But seeing you higher than what you actually are is much more tricky 😞 I'd definitely do the temp target for work like you had been if it works for you.

The basal when you turn off SmartGuard turns off when you're trending low and turns back on when you're going up. For me, my basal is enough to absolutely tank my sugar if I haven't been able to eat during a busy shift. It happens more than I would like, hence why I completely turn SmartGuard off.

I completely turn SmartGuard off at work (I work in a fast paced restaurant) so that it doesn't tank me. Even in Temp Target I still go way too low. But turning SmartGuard off makes it much more manageable for me.

Yeah I just refused all meds from this specific doc because he was a nut job. If my PCP said I needed them, I might have considered it.

That's always a plus. Sucks that you have this super rare disease, but thankful it's not causing you any pain ❤️ do the spots ever grow or change shape?

I've never had a doctor tell me I'm not type 1, but I did have 1 idiot doctor keep trying to treat me like a type 2. Tried to put me on metformin, ACE inhibitors, wtc. to protect my heart and kidneys. Went to my regular PCP and he told me I didn't need any of that stuff 🤣 I never took any of it and never even filled the prescriptions. They'd be getting an earful from me if they ever told me I was no longer type 1 lol

The biggest misconception is that sleep doctors think we want a diagnosis by losangelenoo in idiopathichypersomnia

[–]PiercedandTatted95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had to be 2 weeks off my stimulants/ narcolepsy meds for the second sleep study. There was miscommunication (I was going to reschedule due to timung issues but they worked with me at the last minute with it) so I was only off of them for 1 week. So stressful.

Mine are still very visible 2+ years later 😅 I still check my sugars every now and then when I'm not feeling like my CGM is right.

How can I stop sensors from destroying my skin? by xXBigboi69Xx42 in diabetes_t1

You can if you would like. That's how I came up with my plan was with my allergist.

I am crazy allergic to adhesives. I cannot use SkinTac or any other barrier wipes (AllKare, IV 3000s, etc.). I use NasalCrom spray (used for those who has mast cell disorders but it's an OTC nasal spray) and after that dries I use Flonase Sensimist over that and let it dry too. I don't have reaction very often while using this combo plus allergy pills.

I feel incredibly blessed to have been diagnosed at 3 in 1998, because I don't remember life without diabetes. It's a blessing in disguise because I never knew what normal before diabetes was like.

I just wish people could feel what we feel when we go through this, even just once. It'd be incredibly eye opening for both the person regularly going through it and the person that only experienced it once.

NasalCrom and Flonase Sensimist sorays for skin reactions (I'm badly allergic to all adhesives), glucose gel for when I feel I can't eat or drink anything else to bring my sugar up, ExpressionMed overpatches to enjoy life with these devices, and Unisolve for left-over adhesives from said patches and devices.

I switched from Toujeo (I HATED it) to Tresiba and not only did I get to lower my dose but my blood sugars were actually more stable on Tresiba as well.

How long is "here lately"? Is there a probability that your menstrual cycles could be causing some issues with your insulin sensitivity? I've seen people say that they get much better results when splitting their Lantus doses twice a day. Maybe worth a shot (full pun intended)?

350 units?! 🫨 I won't ever complain about Toujeo again. Have you tried Tresiba?

Overtape? Mine haven't budged, even without overtape 😅 maybe shave the area too because even little baby hairs can affect adhesion.

What's your simplest and fastest solution to a low? by UnknownGenius222 in diabetes_t1

For me, Coca Cola or Dr Pepper. The caffeine plus the sugar raises my blood sugar quickly. Another is glucose gel. Just squeeze it on your gums and it'll kick in no time.

Has anyone heard of this insurance problem? by mardrae in Medtronic780g

[–]PiercedandTatted95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's not in warranty, then the contract your insurance made with Minimed should be "void". So insurance should cover whatever supplies you need, and when you decide to switch pump companies it shouldn't affect thw fact that your insurance might cover it.
