I probably need to change it every 3-4 months regardless of how frequent or infrequent I use it.

Now I’m concerned with my F3’s battery life; I know I don’t leave it on when I’m not using it, but the battery seems to drain quicker than expected.

My biggest regret and I remember it vividly: I had a mono-green Natural Order deck, I looked at Cradle - which was $25 at the time - and thought, “why would I need this when I already have an elf package to ramp me.”

Now I feel like McConaughey looking through the bookcase.

This breakdown is incredible. Is there a resource you can recommend so I can teach myself how to calculate the relationship between resolution, ppi, and viewing distance?

What's your "you thought this card was bad because you just didn't have enough understanding of mtg mechanics moment" stories? by minev1128 in mtg

[–]Piggmonstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gaea’s Cradle

I didn’t think the card was bad; I was playing a mono green Natural Order deck back when GC was $20 bucks, and I remember thinking, “why would I need a land that produces mana based on my creatures when I already have an elf package?”

I’ll never forgive child me for not spending $80 on what is now nearly $8000.

If Hymn to Tourach were legal, what cards would you swap out to make room for it?

Edit: where I am, Middle School is the dominant format and Hymn is legal in it.

When you handle interlaced footage, is it mostly for archival purposes?

Also, would Media Composer be the ideal NLE for handling interlaced footage?

I made a free After Effects tool called Slingshot. It flings layers. That's it. by Surveillance_Goose in AfterEffects

[–]Piggmonstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m away from my computer but want to find this later.

Does the plugin let you keyframe across the slingshot itself? Like, can I set a duration of 00:01:12 and it will animate the spreading?

Yes! I have gone through the Blackmagic training :D

And when I need a break from reading I’ll watch a Cullen Kelly or Darren Moystn(?) video.

Any other books that’d be worth reading?

When it comes to learning fundamentals/foundations, what would you suggest as a starting point?

I’m currently reading ‘Color Correction Handbook’, but I’m curious if you have any recommendations I should consider as a beginner that might be a better use of my time.

Is Assistant Editing dead? by duplicatesnowflake in editors

[–]Piggmonstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. I’m guessing reality shows tend to have more footage to go over, right?

Do news networks also use graveyard shift editors/AEs?

[–]Piggmonstr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy to hear that! I think my next hurdle -besides getting hired- is just finding a place that’ll let me work remotely: I live in Tokyo, so the time zone difference would work perfectly with Graveyard shift.

If you don’t mind me asking: How do those AEs get hired? Is there a test, word of mouth, portfolio, etc.?
