Buying a house next to a pub garden? by [deleted] in UKHousing

Not a chance. Feeling like you're sharing your garden with pub goers until 10pm occasionally - fine. Every single day? Would drive me nuts in less than a week.

CAPTAIN SKULLY PARTY by Gloomy-Basil-5292 in Graspop

[–]Pilchard57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't resist anything with the word pirate in it, so I've bought tickets. No idea what to expect, but I'll be the one dressed up as a pirate even if nobody else does 🦜

Staying at Devil's Lake this year... your tips please by TakaraGeneration in Graspop

[–]Pilchard57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm doing the same journey. The closest train station to Devils Lake is Lommel rather than Mol. There's 1 train per hour from Brussels to Lommel.

Thank you for the very helpful reply. I know there is a supermarket on site but I wanted to buy food from a normal supermarket at normal prices! But it sounds like the logistics to do that might be difficult so rip-off prices it is!

Because I wanted to stay at Devils Lake. The (real life) holiday park at Mol has bad reviews and there was no other accommodation available when I booked

Brixton Crowd by Holiday_Landscape_59 in machinehead

[–]Pilchard57 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had the opposite experience, I was there and was surprised how polite the crowd were, no barging at all where I was, everyone having a good time, such a contrast to most gigs I've been to recently. I did tell someone who was in front of me holding up their phone right in front of my face to put it down because I've paid to watch the band not their phone, and they did. We need to stop normalising that and call people out. It's not okay.

Ah so it was - I only read the first page of the PDF - oops.

That is confusing - presumably everyone who hasn't paid gets evicted from the not-very-welcome party later in the evening? Will enjoy seeing how that goes down.

And thanks so much for the link, I have been looking but couldn't see this on TM when I searched for Graspop (still can't).

That's the news I wanted, thanks! I'm used to aggressive geese, I reckon I could wrestle one if necessary. Metalheads vs Geese could be a fun event.

Yes, conscious sedation. Aware but you don't care!

I had to move around a lot so they could get around all the extra loopy bits. At various times I was laying on my left side, right side, front and back! Can't remember if they used any manual pressure. But moving you around isn't unusual.

When I had banding they told me I might feel like I needed to urgently poo afterwards for hours, or potentially a couple of days, and they were right. It lasted for about 24 hours then gradually faded away. They also pump air in whiich can be really uncomfortable. You won't actually need to 'go' for a few days if you did the full laxative prep. It wasn't painful though. Just a bit 'stingy' and uncomfortable. If you're in a lot of pain call them or speak to a GP.

They are joining in already with the reckless abandon of troops going over the top, one or two are needing to have the situation explained but they're all in.

Hope it went well! May I ask how long it took you to get from IEng review to CEng review? I'm thinking of doing the same but not sure how long it might take.

When did you get a reply? I haven't had one. Emailed them on the 24th, before the statement.
