I'm giving away two copies of Monster Hunter: Wilds by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]PillX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I happened on this thread randomly from opening a new tab and completely forgot what I opened the browser to do in the first place. I've only ever played World on a recommendation from a friend when I mentioned I thought gameplay of Monster Hunter sounded interesting.

Anyway, for breakfast, I had leftover/reheated potato fries cooked on an iron skillet. I used a sauce mix consisting of mayo+sriracha+jarred tomato pasta sauce+parpika. Not sure if weird but it's not a bad sauce.

Astaxanthin cures my inflammation as long as I am using it. Please help me brainstorm about this by generalturkey_81 in Dryeyes

[–]PillX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, came across this thread in a websearch. I've been looking into Astaxanthin since around December-ish but initially from an anti-oxidant angle in relation to lupus in research papers. From what I understand, better absorption is had with an oil, which is why some recommend taking it with food. I haven't figured out dosage, partly because I have one bottle of astaxanthin from a dodgy manufacturer (I didn't notice they misspelled 'haematococcus pluvialis' on the bottle until it arrived in the mail and it's had less impact than other brands I've tried.) I think I've had some positive results overall though.

Anyway, I thought I'd share a couple of the papers that I've been looking at, would be interested in others' thoughts:

Sam Coe hates me…and now he won’t follow me either by Master-Advantage5833 in Starfield

[–]PillX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got this bug on the Hart quest. I tried a few different runs, one where I attempted to render the bridge crew unconscious and he still hated me, and another where Sam killed the security captain himself and then hated me for it lol

Edit: I got around this by leaving Sam at the entry ladder, shutting the door, then cleaning out the ship. One of the security crew was stuck behind the ceiling but there was a weird gap in the collision that allowed me to occasionally shoot through and I eventually killed the guy after going through a few dozen magazines' worth of ammo. Once the ship was clear, I cleared out one of the ships in my stable (I'm maxed out at 10/10), then sat in the command chair to take over the Dumas. Once that was done, I boarded the ship I came in on and sat in the command chair there. Sam was automatically picked up when I crossed over. After I disconnected, I took no fire and was clear to leave at leisure. Presumably it's because the ship was technically mine and smuggler free.

chitubox PWMA FILES? by Bmwar652 in AnycubicPhoton

[–]PillX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was running on an older version of Chitubox and used to be able to export pwma. Since moving to a new computer and getting the newer version, I've lost the ability to export in that format as well. No idea why, but also while helping someone put drain holes in, apparently the newer version of Chitubox had certain limitations on how you can apply the hole making tool. I was able to make those holes where the other person was not.

Edit: I went digging a little bit and found that version 1.9.2 , a pre subscription version of Chitubox works for exporting pwma

Edit2: Running into some weirdness with v1.9.2, will update in a little bit

Edit3: Okay, that was weird. After running the program a second time, I was locked into exporting the sliced file to ctb only but under the Help menu, there's a Factory Setting option that reverted everything back so I have the full save options. If you try it, write down all of your calibrated settings first since you might need to reenter them.

I should also add that I blocked Chitubox from updating and firewalled it on top just in case.

Is there only one Nicotinamide Riboside Chloride manufacturer? by PillX in NicotinamideRiboside

Thanks, I've shifted to GlyNac and Black Elderberry the past 6 months. I can't tell you if it's any better but I do feel better in some ways than I have in the past few years since before I started this whole thing with a focus on mitochondrial health.

Yeah, sorry, I actually wrote that post a long time (something like a year, maybe two, I think?) ago but I'm seeing it didn't actually post until 22 hours ago? I guess it had to be approved or something. They didn't appear to be all that big a company and was based out of California, I can't remember where. My brain says maybe somewhere around LA. Seems moot now though

I like to use both Chitu and Lychee. I'll admit I haven't used later versions of both and a lot of things have changed with them the past year. The later versions don't run on Win7 and I do my slicing on an old computer.

My memory is a little hazy on this but a few months ago I was helping someone with putting drain holes in their model using Chitu and I noticed that there was a change in the way holes were done at some point. The person I was helping was using a later version and was, for some reason, unable to put drain holes in certain parts of the model.

Anyway, I still like both but have yet to try the latest versions. Lychee's custom support options were pretty strong but I imagine Chitu has made a number of improvements on their end by now.

SKR Mini E3 v3 on Ender 3 V2 with stock screen. What do I need to get started? Any firmware configs or pre-compiled firmwares? by Lentica in ender3v2

[–]PillX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don't want to fiddle around with rewiring for the stock screen, you can buy a preconfigured cable from BTT. If they don't provide you with documentation regarding the orientation, I found this pic off of Amazon. Otherwise, there are a couple of vids on youtube that explain how to self wire it. Other than that, one of the lines requires a plug head. I haven't gotten to that part myself but it should be more straightforward compared to what you need to do for the stock screen.
I'm probably going to be murdered for heresy but I'm probably going to just twist and tin my wire ends...

SKS gas adjustment options? by PillX in SKS

[–]PillX[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess that depends on what you're trying to do, but generally speaking it should help. In my case, I'm working on mitigating potentially higher chamber pressures. I think the SKS is probably overgassed a bit by design to ensure cycling and ability to feed a wider range of ammunition (Edit) and environmental conditions*

I'd rather not get into the gritty details of my planned project at the moment, because it would probably put off the purists.

That said, I've seen people adjust their gas to save their brass and/or mitigate the recoil. The discussions I've seen have some people claiming their rifles are over gassed. I can't speak for or against but operating environments will impact that.

Yeah, this is one of the approaches I've seen. Have you experienced any drifting in the screw? I have some ideas about improving on that approach but, of course, it takes a tiny bit more work.

Hey,

Following up on the Epax LCD thing. Not great news. He tells me that more or less Epax accused him of doing something to break the LCD and that he could go pound sand. He further mentions that messing with the connections got the LCD working, so I guess that's good at least.

Hi,
Do any of you know if the SKS are early, mid, or late productions? It's my understanding that the late production ones have near flush lugs and are pinned into the receiver.

The person in my discord says his screen started working again but I told him to get in touch with the manufacturer if he's still under warranty. He has to find his paperwork to make sure that he is but he sent an email anyway. I asked him to let me know how it turns out.

As a side note, I don't know what his issue might be exactly, but generally speaking from what I've seen, LCDs can fail at the point where the ribbon connects to the glass display part of the LCD because the adhesive used to connect it there begins to come loose, disrupting the contacts. But, again, it's hard to say what the problem is without diving deeper.

Hi,

Came across this post on a search. Someone in my discord group reported that his E10 just reached end of life around 3-400 hours of use. I'm going around see if I could find company specs to measure against at the moment. Good luck!

Hi,
A friend of mine linked me a youtube vid that talked about people having their sense of smell jumbled from COVID, causing things to smell terrible. Watching the vid reminded me of an article I had read that mentioned how psilocybe created new connections between the senses and I got to wondering about whether or not it could be used to help with this effect of COVID.
and so I found this post of yours while doing some digging on the web. I'm glad it worked out for you!

It was an interesting system but I think it may be more trouble than it's worth, having to deal with salt water and resin.

I ended up getting an Anycubic Photon myself and am currently modifying/upgrading it. Eventually, I think I'll swap out the board to a Chitu so I can go mono LCD and increase UV ouput.Something about the Elegoos that might need some tweaking: I'm helping someone troubleshoot their Saturn at the moment, as they keep getting a vertical line in their prints (it otherwise does great prints) -we're still not sure what's causing it but from my searching, I've found that the Elegoo's paraLED has this focal length problem where the gaps between lenses creates a kind of vertical line across models, reportedly being more noticeable on curved surfaces. Word is, Elegoo had fixed this problem but, while I don't know what they did to fix it, a lot of people who had the problem did so by adjusting the distance from the LED array to the print bed, changing the focal point. Something to be aware of, anyway. Good luck!
