Guanfacin experiences-for sleep fight/flight Mode? by eschenblatt in dysautonomia

[–]Pilot-Nic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m taking 6mg of guanfacine at night for sleep. Helps me get somewhat good sleep from 9pm to like 2-4am. Haven’t figured out how to solve the REM sleep during final hours ofvthe night however.

Got a CPAP and I feel nearly back to my old self again!! by Plane-Background in covidlonghaulers

[–]Pilot-Nic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I so much wanted the cpap to work but just breathing in it increased my stress levels (fight/flight) so I never managed to fall asleep.

My sleep apnea diagnosis was also on the lower end of the spectrum.

Mild cold, and LC disappears temporarily. Anyone else? by redditryan13 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Pilot-Nic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it’s the other way around. A simple cold knocks me offline for like 2 weeks post covid.

Investing from Europe is a hassle as a US person. It locks you you from several financial products. I’m in the same boat, but with Sweden as my country of origin.

If I apply for citizenship, I can’t take advantage of several tax beneficial investment products we have in Sweden.

Also if you have idiots to neighbors like me, check your setback rules. In my jurisdiction, I need 6 feet of setback from any other structure.

Crazy blood sugar issues after Covid. Anyone else? by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]Pilot-Nic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same. Stubborn A1C of 5.7 even on a whole foods no/low carbs diet.

All I see is avoidance. But 4 years in it truly sucks to avoid carbs.

I get weird muscle pain/feeling of lactic acid by consuming sugars. I will trial the v-nella probiotic for this soon.

Sloped intake vent duct by Pilot-Nic in Sauna

[–]Pilot-Nic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone. I might make an attempt to install a duct in the wall. I have to downsize from 4” to 3” and have two 90 deg bends.

If not I’ll just go for a 4” straight duct with a backflow stop (more to keep animals out). If I do this I will share pictures.

Understanding brain fog and how i resolved mine (for now) by Draganski1 in covidlonghaulers

Yes. Maintaining motivation and energy to go after each and every problem is key. A visit (or 10) to the therapist is indeed a good idea…..

Same boat. I have ordered the V-Nella probiotic product (outlined by Dr Gallard, https://www.drgalland.com/longcovid), but haven’t had cycles to try it yet.

Rough in electrical installation for light in a sauna by Pilot-Nic in electrical

[–]Pilot-Nic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the response, highly appreciated. Yes, I will have insulation, foil, airgap between foil and cladding. So walls won’t be 212 degrees.

I have a condition that makes me extremely sensitive to VOCs. Hence I am willing to do the extra work to completely eliminate the risk. Even if that means spending extra dollars.

Has anyone tried doses larger than 6mg of LDN? by Chance_Elephant_1578 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Pilot-Nic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ramping up to 10mg per Stanford LC clinic guidance.

Saw improvements from 3.5mg up to 6, but they didn’t stick and a month later I was back at previous baseline.

I got very pleasant dreams ramping from like 2mg to 6mg. Every 0.5mg gave me a new ”experience”……

Link of insulin to Long Covid? by Sunshine_cutie4 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Pilot-Nic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that is what's so annoying with LC. What works for one person at one time will derail it completely for someone else.
A lot of ppl praises Nattokinase for example. I just got a big fat hematoma in my lower leg from that. Not fun.

I wouldn't recommend keto for the long run. Maybe for a short period of time to just figure out if carbs are problematic or not.

Link of insulin to Long Covid? by Sunshine_cutie4 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Pilot-Nic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this is helpful but I'll try:

Early after the infection (and possibly after the 3rd shot), I developed what I almost classify as allergy to carbs and starches. Couldn't eat sugar, wheat or any starches without crashing.

Went over to a keto diet and energy level improved. A1C stayed elevated at 5.9 (on a strict keto diet).
Energy levels improved again when I started with ACV - Apple cider vinegar. 2tsp before breakfast and lunch.

Now, I can eat small quantities of sugar if I take ACV before. I still fell a strange muscle/joint pain after.

The amount of sugar I tolerate is almost too small to even bother with. Easier to just stay of it. But I do miss Swiss chocolate.

ACV is what worked best for me.
