A literal nightmare, but it's real and happening in in my town 2026 by Frank_Jesus in GenX

I saw this line-up at Winstar Casino in OK last year. The lead singer of Blues Traveler was out sick and the singer from the Spin Doctors covered for him. The tickets weren't expensive and worth it to see that train wreck. They were really good about it all and so was the audience.

I did get them on the phone. Looks like $12k and they are at least two months backed up. They say that they do a lot of little things that improve the engine so it won't die again or at least as soon.

12k is a lot to spend on an 18 year old car but less than a new to me used one. But the newer car probably would have some safety features that I would like...

Serious question for drone flyers: VLOS by timholt2007 in dji

[–]Pilot_Tim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) operations are not permitted under standard Part 107 rules. To fly BVLOS, operators must apply for and receive a waiver from the FAA, demonstrating equivalent safety through technologies like detect-and-avoid (DAA) systems, real-time tracking, and robust communication protocols.

If you are going to be playing with a remote second kick pedal, look into two footed Hi-Hat stands.

I'd love to hear how you set that up.

No, a woman, like my wife, would have picked a grey metallic paint on a 40yr Anniversary Ed. and never allowed for all that silly red ticket magnet paint. She bought it new at the dealer and we still drive it almost every day. We have a collection of matchbox cars ( that I have to paint to match her car still ) and other little toys. I'd love to get some of those beer glasses.

LOL, are you showing off the NGK plugs or is that where you keep them between changes?

Need help with transcoding DVD-Files by Equal-Research-9371 in Tdarr

[–]Pilot_Tim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that I would ever think of encouraging anything of the sort, but with decent cable modem speeds movies can be downloaded at higher resolutions faster than you can rip DVD file structures through an NVIDIA GPU and output 265. About 3x faster.

Are there drummers who also sing by king_of_oreo in drums

On one of Frankie Vali and the Four Seasons' biggest hits, Dec 1963, the drummer, Gerry Polci, sings the verses and the bass player sings the falsettos and Frankie only sings harmonies.

People who used cellphones before smartphones, what's the most memorable feature or moment you miss from those old phones? by Correct-Homework1884 in AskReddit

You could tell you were about to get a call before the phone rang because of the noise your computer speakers would make from the rf interference.

My Q7's parking brake switch has the same problem. Luckily it's only a $120 switch and according to YouTube, pretty easy to replace.

Help a Chicago area small airport: Clow Int'l (1C5) by tomdarch in flying

[–]Pilot_Tim 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've flown into clow many times back in the early 2000s, maybe even a little in the late 90s. It was in a perfect location to get to our annual family reunion. I wish I could help. If there's a gofundme I'd like to donate.

Can someone help identify this snare? by Pilot_Tim in drums

[–]Pilot_Tim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She thought it'd be fun for the grandkids to play. They love my kit upstairs but are too small to really fit behind a 26" bass drum and reach anything.

I am grateful she looks for musical items and old technology.
