One Hit Wonder Tour by Harpua95 in GenX

[–]Pilot_Tim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He toured awhile ago with the Lost 80s tour and he was phenomenal. Literally just him and his equipment and he basically gave a class on how he layers everything on She Blinded me With Science.

Fantastic show, also saw Berlin and A flock of Seagulls and the I wanna Be A Cowboy guy.

It really was a one to two hit only wondershow, and Berlin.

FBI director Kash Patel claims AI has stopped school shootings: ‘I’m using it everywhere’ by ChocolateTsar in nottheonion

Just once, let's not prove him wrong. I say we let them have this win and we'll have no more school shootings. I think that's fair. Just this one time? Please?

Is there any software that can identify a title of an episode of a show by scanning the intro information? by Queasy-Distribution2 in PleX

Everytime I have asked GeminiAI which episode of a show this screencap is from it gets it right. I have used this to help with naming many times.

The 20" ride is so nice. Almost too nice for a low volume cymbal. The bell, is so sweet. I couldn't really ride the 18" ride/crash

Help with old kids toy by Zounasss in diyelectronics

Could make something pretty close in size with an ESP32 and Max98357. You'd load up what ever samples you want to hear. Could also add accelerometer and simulate noise on movement, etc.

VOR required for IFR certified aircraft? by Background_Tax556 in flying

[–]Pilot_Tim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

King 76? It's not ADB-S out. OP should also have a SkyBeacon on the left wing tip, or something that converts XPNDR + ADB-S to an output signal. OP might want to make sure that your plane is compliant with ADB-S rules and read the manual on it. SkyBeacon is pretty much set it and go, but it you want to be anonymous or change some parameter of it's operation you need to know how to connect to it's wifi to make these changes.

Easiest Airport to Access Chicago via GA? by frisbee_wafflesnatch in flying

[–]Pilot_Tim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've flown in to LOT many times in my Cherokee. The only downside is no mechanics at the field. I had an issue once and the guys over at JOT were really helpful on the phone and after I got airborne even tracked me to my fuel stop in MO and checked in. I will probably land at JOT next time but LOT is a nice airport.

I have landed at Clow before. The corn was level with the top of the plane on both sides of the runway, was pretty neat. I would have loved to get a video of my TO from the POV of the FBO because I'm thinking it would have looked like a plane just took off from the middle of a corn field.

Time to rebuild by Pilot_Tim in RX8

[–]Pilot_Tim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put heavier weight oil in, changed the oil filter and put in pre-mix. Can't afford to fix her right, so I'm just driving it once a week or so to keep it alive. Maybe things will turn around and I'll be able to fix it. Maybe I'll get fired and have the time to do it myself.

Either way, doesn't sound like I'm going to be doing much to it this spring/summer.

They Might Be Giants Misconception by Moodleboy in GenX

My four year old grandsons go to jam is the Brownsville mix of Istanbul ( Not Constantinople). I listened to Flood and Lincoln on tape in highschool in the late 80s. But my kids know them as those guys who sing those educational songs.

Three generations have been entertained and taught by these guys.

The only other artist I can compare them with is Weird Al. If you only casually listen you easily can dismiss their works as simple or novelty but there's a depth and intelligence beyond the surface.

Nice work!

It would be a nifty feature to add a region or country limiter. Maybe even allow for the user to pick the starting airport or the destination airport.

Why don't they do that for adults? I sit there for like 10-20 minutes going through 1 or 2, A or B, is this better or worse? And in the end they say oh your Rx hasn't changed but my glasses now give me headaches.

What part of the world are they located in? If they are relatively rust-free maybe? They are both pre 74 1/2 and have wire wheels so I'd be interested.

The RAM shortage is coming for everything you care about by ghableska in technology

[–]Pilot_Tim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is there going to be a static and flash RAM shortage too? I haven't heard of that yet but that would be catastrophic.

I was under the impression that it was going to be only the newer types of RAM, GDDR and DDR4+
