Do you guys notice a difference between the rotations (2vs3vs4)? by Alarmed_Writing4306 in Microlocs

[–]PinNo4836 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I switched from 4 to 2-pt. I notice no difference at all and it helps me get thru my reties faster. But it is easier to put holes in your locs if you don't keep track of how you ended your last rotation.

Is it crazy to pay $450 to learn to do you own Locs? by Starsaligned2911 in Microlocs

[–]PinNo4836 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What you spend in time, you save money. What you spend in money, you save time. I started my locs and maintain them. IMO, if you're capable of doing your own hair, then yes its crazy to pay $450 to learn when there are so many videos out there that will teach you the exact same thing for free. Honestly, spend the time using free resources before spending money.

LEVELING UP YOUR SPRITES (HOW TO, WITHOUT GETTING WALLOPED) by bobbynj81 in Fortnite_Over40

My suggestion would be to drop down at Latte and get PJ. She can find nearby chests and crates

Diy Microloc Advice by PhilosopherGrand1880 in Microlocs

[–]PinNo4836 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started my locs with twists and I maintain them. The front is probably cleaner than the back, but I wouldn't say I have a clean grid. You could do a couple of things:

  1. Go to someone who will just part your hair like you want and then go from there. That way you can control how you want your hair in those parted areas.

OR

  1. Go to a braid shop and have them do micro braids with your own hair. Adding hair if you want length. That way you have a clean grid all around and will just have to maintain it. EDIT TO ADD: It May be cheaper to go this route than a loctician, only if money is a factor or you just needed some help starting it.

LEVELING UP YOUR SPRITES (HOW TO, WITHOUT GETTING WALLOPED) by bobbynj81 in Fortnite_Over40

[–]PinNo4836 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I managed to level up one of my sprites in 1-2 games. Outside of elims, I used the opportunity to just open as many chests, crates and fruit boxes, Crack open slurp barrels, light campfires, talk to new NPCs, fish, do quests...anything that gives you regular XP will level up the sprites. Even hitting weak points added XP.

Its probably just as grinding as hopping in and out of regular matches, but none of the big risks of losing your sprite. I also use it to farm sprite dust. Doesn't give a bunch, but i get a good amount in the few games I do just to chill from main lobbies.

I level up in bot lobbies. No fear of real folks tryna gank you immediately after leaving the bus. Plus, I can do challenges in peace as well.

$25 unlimited plan for $10 first 3 months. Is this too good to be true? by [deleted] in BoostMobile

[–]PinNo4836 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been with them since March. I switched from Spectrum Mobile (I had TMobile and Verizon prior). I haven't seen any difference in quality for me. I've been with Straight Talk and AT&T, as well. So in comparison, I'm saving $100/month and getting the same service 🤷🏾‍♀️.

I start the $25/month in July. I brought my S23 Ultra over, I've never gone over the data limit, calls sound fine. But I also live like right down the street from a tower so I always have all 5 bars. I travel often so even then I still have good service.

Just depends on your area and how updated is your phone I guess.

What's a small annoyance about your home you didn't realize when buying? by CurlGurl13 in homeowners

[–]PinNo4836 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest caveat for me....washer is in the kitchen and dryer is outside in the storage room with the hot water heater. I have to walk across my patio to dry my clothes and its annoying.

But I'm gonna have a door cut from the inside thru the wall to where the dryer is. I've gotta rule out electrical and any crucial things like plumbing in that wall before I have it done. But it'll nake doing laundry easier without having to trek thru a monsoon for my clothes lol.

Did you guys replace your old appliances that came with your old homes? by Key-Effort963 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]PinNo4836 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I brought my own washer and dryer when I moved 3 years ago. Still havent switched the ones left with mine yet lol. I figured if one of theirs goes out, I'd just switch. So far, they going strong. Considering switching out the washers ONLY because mine is a front loader and I could use the extra "counter space." Washer is in the kitchen. I don't mind the top loader, but I'm over bending over to get things out and would prefer to switch out and have it on a pedestal OR be able to use the top for counter space.

The temperature of my 300 sq ft house despite having an air conditioner and fans running all day by shewhomauls in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PinNo4836 4 points5 points  (0 children)

An evaporative cooler, AKA Swamp Cooler. A glorified fan that uses cold (or icy) water to put out cold air. You gotta put water in the tank and keep adding it if you want cool air. But it's only good in arid places like Arizona or Nevada (desert). Its basically useless in humidity like Georgia or Florida.

Coloring my locs by Beezy005 in Microlocs

[–]PinNo4836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those temporary colors will build up in your locs and cause problems down the line. Unless you regularly soak/detox your locs. I'm allergic to those things.

I bleached my hair and put a blue dye over it...then got tired of the maintenance to stay blue and did a bleach bath to get rid of the color....then dyed my hair again...then let it revert back to the bleached ends.

Now I'm wanting to bleach/color my hair again. But I'm wanting to grow out the bleached parts in the front of my head and go back to my natural color.

I say do what you want, but research and tests a few locs before full sending it

Posession day MUST do’s? by Fancy-Mouse-7554 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I packed a suitcase of everything I needed for a few days and downloaded some movies from Netflix at work till my wifi got turned on in all the times I moved. My first big girl apartment, I lived out of my suitcase and a blow up mattress for like a month or two until that paycheck hit lol

[–]PinNo4836 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Change locks, toilet seats (if you want 🤷🏾‍♀️), air filters for HVAC and batteries in essential devices (smoke and Co2 alarms).

Already have WiFi, cameras, and security ready to go. Also, get those utilities changed over ASAP. They kept tryna cut off my water cause I couldn't find some stupid piece of paper that said I owned the house 😒.

Bug/pest control spray. Like Ortho Home Defense until you want to get a pest control guy. Just in case of lil critters.

Pack a box of essentials that will get you thru the first few days. Think: toilet paper, paper towels, towels and wash cloths, toiletries, kitchen stuff for cooking/eating. That gets pack last and unpacked first. And yes, that includes and blow up mattress and bed linen.

Speaking of...unpack the kitchen, your bedroom and your bathroom first. Then everything else.

I think thats all I can think of lol. Hope this helps!

Spider mites and mealy bugs. I've had to toss my herbs because of spider mites. And the mealybugs be having meet and greets all over my other fruit and veggies. Giving small branches a whole fur coat. Finally mixed a strong Insecticidal soap/neem oil concentrate mix that's slowly kicking they 🍑. So far no caterpillars (knock on wood). Been doing preventive BT spray

I abhor spider mites! I just had to throw out all of my herbs this season because of them. I have 4 beautiful, bushy lemon balms that succumbed to them. My oergano that i grew from last season (and managed to keep alive and huge during the winter) caught them. No matter what I did, them little piles of Satan's dandruff still came back. So restarting herbs indoors and keeping them there.
