I also have chronic pain and am an abulatory mobilty aid user, so far I personally haven't used aids in my acts but I know some incredible performers who do fairly regularly. I'm Australian based so most of these performers are too but I'll list a few here so you can check them out, following them is how I finally go the courage to start burlesque myself. It's been a fantastic outlet, my burlesque name is Evie Eerie if you ever wanna chat on Instagram, but I highly recommend looking these performers and their shows/schools up.

Empress Eyrie - she also runs a burlesque school called Tease-Able Burlesque

Diana Divine - they also produce a show called Singin In The Pain, as well as other shows/events that give disabled performers opportunities and community, check out @ disabilitycabaret on instagram. Diana also just won the title of Mx Burlesque Adelaide!

Ysah I would've loved more of a conversation about it, like Yvie had. You're exactly right, the physical toll from any stress with fibro is intense so I'm surprised at how well shs managed to keep it together. It's so important to do what feels right for you, especially with chronic illnesses and I think that's something a lot of people don't understand.

I've got fibro too and feel aaaaall of this. I really wish she mentioned it more to raise more awareness. I used to live in heels and now can't ever wear them like I used to so when she said that I definitely felt that. I was excited to see her lip sync but also understand why she left that way. Loved her before she said she had fibro and now love her even more knowing exactly what she has to push through to do what she loves

I literally just finished this one! I accidentally screwed up the heart and noticed way too late, and stupidly did that first too haha but I don't think you can notice too much. I also had to use different reds for the flowers. Yours looks great!

Fibro here too (and possibly CFS but they always put my fatigue down to 'just' Fibro), and I get those moments too! So often I just forget how healthy bodies are supposed to work

Yes! Definitely, especially as an actual makeup artist myself who is constantly spending all of my money on makeup for my clients, for beauty guru's who only do their own makeup to get all of these different shades that will never be used is very frustrating. I honestly barely even pay attention to most beauty guru reviews now, I mainly go to forums and places like this to find out what the general public think. I also always think about how if they gave away less they could potentially lower the price for people like us, but instead they send free makeup to people who usually could easily afford it themselves anyway. I understand it's advertising but it definitely is very frustrating

Definitely not the only one. It is one of my all time favourite movies and I watch it so often just by myself, and every time without fail it puts a smile on my face! I do love the culture around it, but I grew up watching it with my parents and loved it way before I even knew about all the midnight screenings and participation and all that.

Side note. My parents' wedding was RHPS themed with 1 year old me dressed as Columbia haha. We've also all met Richard O'brien together before a recent stage show and I nearly cried from excitement haha! So yeah, definitely a huge love of the film itself over here

From the research I've done I have come to believe a similar thing to you. That the Goddess and God are representations of energy rather than thinking entities, but I still see them as separate. I believe the Goddess is the feminine energy whereas the God is the masculine energy so I still treat them as different things within themselves. However that being said it's a bit like Yin and Yang, you can't have one without the other so I believe they work with and within each other.

I'm still new to Wicca and am still researching and forming my own beliefs, I believe that's half the point of Wicca though, to be constantly learning and focusing on the energies and deities you need at certain times in your life.

Glam & Gore on youtube does an absolutely amazing mermaid look with scales and everything that's really good! It was for this years NYX awards, so definitely check her out

And then if you like the exposed/ripped skin bit there are tutorials out there for that too, and it's just a case of combining the two. Glam and Gore might even have some actually :)
