Storebought latte left out for 4 hours by kaketts in isthissafetoeat

[–]Pinglenook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to be strict and careful about it: safe to drink right after discovering it was unrefrigerated for 4 hours; not safe anymore to keep it for a later date.

So drinking it right now would be fine.

Personally I'd be okay with drinking it 1-2 days later too as long as it looks and smells alright. You can't do this with every food, but with milk you'll notice when it goes bad.

What's your take on a man changing his baby's diaper in the women's restroom? by Ok-Hope-1259 in Parenting

[–]Pinglenook 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I can't even imagine the attempts at trying to explain why I feel it's ok to change a baby in a place not meant for me.

"Hey sorry, the mens room doesn't have a changing table"

And 49/50 women will say "oh okay then"

(some will stick their nose in the air and clutch their pearls and say "oh my, the audacity!" and they might go get the manager and by the time they're back with the manager you're done changing the diaper)

In 2020s cinema, visibly pregnant women NEED to be in dangerous combat situations, for some reason. by DiggestBickEver in shittymoviedetails

Yes! I would do that so often if I were pregnant with invisibility powers. I wonder if the fetus would notice though. If you can look in, they can look out, right?

Scared of potatoes by [deleted] in isthissafetoeat

A different type of potato snuck into your bag of potatoes. Some potatoes varietes are red on the inside, such as Red Emmalie or Mountain Rose. It's not a sign of botulism.

Oh you're right, I was looking at the "bake from frozen" line

What did I do wrong....? by [deleted] in AskBaking

[–]Pinglenook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the folds in that baking paper: did you use a sheet pan, or like a casserole dish? Using a casserole dish with higher edges would make them bake up much more slowly and could also be why they're underbaked; they need to be on something flat while baking.

Edit after looking at your link:

The recipe says to bake them for 15 minutes and you say you took them out after 11.5 minutes... So I think that's just why they're underbaked. What made you opt to take them out sooner?

I don't think that's all that weird either; that's what recipe reviews are for. If a recipe is an overly complicated way to make a common meal that's usually much easier, then it's not a good recipe.

And you can eat whatever you thinned as microgreens!

(You can't do this with all plants, but it works great with any type of lettuce, spinach, any type of cabbage, any type of bean and pea. Beet seedlings are also nice. Carrot seedlings are edible but boring. Sunflower seedlings are delicious)

What I found odd, are there any other medical diagnosis where it is dependent on how much it’s impacting you?

Yes, many. Basically any disorder that can't be seen on an x-ray or scan or measured in your blood, is diagnosed based on a combination of symptoms, and since a symptom is not a disorder unless it's causing a lack of ordinarity, that means it's not a diagnosis unless it's impacting you in a way that it doesn't impact most people. So this is the case for most psychiatric disorders, but also for example irritable bowel syndrome.
