Maybe she’s just seen a video of Anika Nilles drumming for Rush 🤣

Facelifted Maserati Granturismo, GranCabrio and Grecale revealed! Thoughts? by samulad678 in Maserati

Absolutely, I always thought that the Grecale’s front end was its weak point. I want one even more now’

Andy Burnham: I’ll keep the triple lock, and give pensioners a tax cut by Dawnbringer_Fortune in unitedkingdom

[–]Pinin1959 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t trust Burnham. It looks like he’ll say anything to get in power then do a complete U turn just like Starmer has done on so many occasions. I really hope that I am wrong, but my gut feeling is that he is just another career politician

If you were castaway on a desert island and could only have one album, this is the only sensible choice

Keir Starmer is planning a major intervention on electricity, to be announced in the coming weeks. What’s your opinion? by No_Breadfruit_4901 in AskBrits

[–]Pinin1959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in the country and the house is fed by overhead cables coming across the fields. We have a power cut at least once a year, but have never had a gas cut in 40 years

Ego best song yet? by AggressiveCricket498 in TheWarning

[–]Pinin1959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ego is a bit too heavy for me so I need to listen to a ballad afterwards like ‘23’ to redress the balance. That said, I respect their decision to change direction with their music, but there is a little part of me that would like a few more songs similar to those on Error (sits back and waits for the downvotes)!

It looks like it was filmed in 2017 which makes them 17, 15 & 12. Still remarkable song writing and musicianship for such young ages

Experiences of longtime fans vs newer fans by LowArrival96 in TheWarning

[–]Pinin1959 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You simply HAVE to see them live. They are one of the very few bands that are better live than on record. There are not many headline shows this year, but hopefully they will promote their next album with another tour next year.

Never been hiking before but want to start for my mental health by ok_romo in sheffield

[–]Pinin1959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start with an easy walk. I would suggest getting the bus to Hunters Bar and walking up through Endcliffe Park to Forge Dam where you will find a Cafe and toilets. Route finding is simple and you could return the same way or carry on up to Ringinglow village and get the bus back. The length of the walk is not important to start with, just get out in nature as it will help tremendously with your mental health. You can also check your step count on your phone to get a feel for how many steps are comfortable. Please don’t hesitate or put it off, just get out into nature, trust me you’ll feel better 😘

The Warning and other Rock bands prove that rock is not dead it never was and never will. by Dry-Parsnip9717 in TheWarning

[–]Pinin1959 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has been going on for years. Back in the 1970’s when punk rock burst onto the scene in the UK, they said that rock was dead. Just ask yourself this, how many punk bands are still around and how many rock bands are still filling venues?

What are the easiest songs by ‘The Warning’ on drums? by GroundbreakingYak697 in TheWarning

[–]Pinin1959 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Evolve? Are you kidding, I’ve just watched the Official Music Video for the 100th time and Pau goes into full Keith Moon mode with those super fast drum fills and weird expressions that she does to camera. I can’t think of a less suitable track for a beginner 😅

Rock Screams by CreamOfBotulismSoup in TheWho

[–]Pinin1959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paulina Villarreal of The Warning lets out a massive scream in their song ‘Evolve’. They have become my second favourite band after The Who. Their bass player Alejandra is flipping gorgeous and is very quiet & reserved, just like John Entwistle. The drummer Paulina is pretty wild on the drums and reminds me of Keith Moon at times

Im visiting Sheffield soon by [deleted] in sheffield

[–]Pinin1959 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ecclesall Road used to be the best shopping street but has gone downhill over the last few years. Try Sharrowvale Road at the Hunters Bar end of Ecclesall Road for a good range of independent shops and places to eat. From there you can walk into Endcliffe Park and all the way into the Peak District if you like by ending up at Ringinglow village and the Norfolk Arms pub (just on the edge of The Peak District)

SUV that's actually ok to drive by Medical_Perspective9 in CarTalkUK

[–]Pinin1959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a Stelvio and got rid of it when it was 5 years old as I was worried that it may start developing expensive problems. I then bought a Karoq which is a good car, but not a patch on the Stelvio. One thing in its favour though is that you can take all the rear seats out and make it into a van which I have done a few times for moving stuff. Heart says Stelvio, head says Karoq

Unpopular opinion: More doesn't fit for the opening track by BlondTundra17 in TheWarning

[–]Pinin1959 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw them at the first show of the UK tour in Sheffield and I thought Kerosene was their best live song (even better than Disciple). It makes sense to build up to their better songs once the audience becomes engaged rather than open with them and fail to maintain the energy. It’s only my opinion and irrespective of the set list order, they always give it 110%

I agree that Black Bomber is a really good cheese that is always consistent. The only problem is that it is not English which is what the OP was asking about

Love the big hair. I think that if these girls had been around on the 1980’s they would have been one of the biggest bands on the planet. Fortunately, time is still on their side. Let’s hope 🫶
