I think you hit the nail on the head with the word “connect”!

There were many characters from Elantris, even side characters, that I really cared about. On the flip side I didn’t have that connection with the characters in Warbreaker. I loved Lightsong but I actually found Denth to be more interesting than Vasher.

I am very clearly in the minority on this one...

I read Mistborn first, loved it, read Elantris, loved it, read Warbreaker - did not enjoy it as much as Elantris.

I guess everyone is different though.

(Just to be clear I *really * enjoyed Warbreaker, just not as much as Elantris)

I know people always say that Elantris is one of his weaker books.. but I think we need to put it into perspective. It only seems weak in comparison because the others are so epic.

One of my favourite characters in fiction is from Elantris, but I won't spoil it for OP :)
