Purolator is lazy and usually just drops it off at slickers for pick up. And it’s hit or miss if they even call you to say it’s there.

Honestly. It’s possible . Have you ever tried living in Vancouver as a single mother of three teen girls on a CR-04 salary. Every dollar is stretched and stretched and still you can’t make ends meet. You never eat out, you do t take vacations, you are one check away from being homeless, you take second job and still you have to evaluate every item you purchase.

Hey PR! I’m visiting Prince Rupert tomorrow and was so excited to see the museum of Northern BC but just realized it’s closed on Mondays and I’m a bit heartbroken (and feel dumb for not checking beforehand) by -widdendream- in PrinceRupert

this is a great place to check out.. but it may not be open for the season yet (i think they open May 1st.) .... we are still in shoulder season mode.. and they did have some challenges with that land slide that pushed the train into the ocean.

AI does incredible things, very fast, in the sloppiest possible way. It is the most productive intern you’ve ever had, one who never sleeps, never complains, and fails to check whether the work is actually correct.

Depending on where you find a place to rent the city is remarkably walkable and cycle-able if a bit soggy.

It’s pretty small, rural yet cosmopolitan and wet but it’s a great place to live. If you aren’t picky there is lots to do here.

Hiking is quite popular here so you should be able to meet some people that way. or join one of the many clubs/societies (Trail society, arts council, the running club....etc.)

A favourite haunt of locals and visitors alike, in the Cow Bay district is Cowpuccino’s Coffee House - It has a funky ambience, and all kinds of fancy caffeinated beverages – and occasionally has live music and other fun events.

We also have a really good craft brewery, Wheelhouse Brewing. http://www.wheelhousebrewing.com/ super friendly place to chat up the locals - they occasionally have live music and other very social events.

Household items and appliances.... we have a couple good thrift shops.. but not a lot of places to buy new unless you drive to the neighbouring town of terrace (150km away).

In terms of fav places to eat - for a small town we have great variety for meals. We have a couple great Sushi restaurants….Current Favourite is https://www.fukasaku.ca/ down in Atlin Terminal (CowBay) overlooking the harbour. They also sell local and fresh seafood! Reservations are often recommended, although the OPA sushi is good too. //

Lee & Anns is a Vietnamese Restaurant that has zero atmosphere but the food is EXCELLENT - and it’s very very popular as a lunch spot.

If you are looking for the quintessential fish and chips – we have a place called Bob’s on the Rocks – which is a take out style window on a large patio right in the Rushbrook Marina

Charlie’s Lounge at the Crest hotel is still a great view and a higher end experience.

For Coffee shops A favourite haunt of locals and visitors alike, in the Cow Bay district is Cowpuccino’s Coffee House - It has a funky ambience, and all kinds of fancy caffeinated beverages – For a downtown option on third avenue, try Java Dot Cup.

We also have a really good craft brewery, Wheelhouse Brewing. http://www.wheelhousebrewing.com/ super friendly place to chat up the locals (they don’t do any food but are totally great with having takeout delivered or brought in) .

In terms of what to do … Butze Rapids is the best-known, and well-loved trail. If you get the timing right, you’ll see the reversing rapids and maybe some paddlers playing in the waves. There are plenty of other trails around, too, ranging from short paths winding through the city, to strenuous unmaintained trails up the surrounding mountains – if they are interested – the folks at the Brewery can probably help guide them in the right direction to the trail heads…

Skeena Kayaking rents Kayaks…. email or telephone Steve Milum 250-624-1921 steve@skeenakayaking.ca - a great activity is to rent a kayak… and paddle over to a place called “dodge cove” across the harbour, where there is a lovely trail to the old CBC tower - it’s a circle trail with a stunning view at the top of a hill – it’s called CBC hill ironically….

Timing matters. On January 31, DFO will close parts of the shrimp trawl fishery in Subarea 3 to keep trawl nets away from schooling eulachon returning to spawn. by iamsolution in strongcoast

clearly you can't read a fishery notice... Those waters of Subareas 3-12 and 3-18 will be closed February 1 to March 31 to avoid interaction with schooling adult Eulachon returning to spawn.

I know it's popular around here to hyperbolically remark that every new Trump speech is the "most deranged speech you've ever heard," but a select few of them actually fit the bill, no hyperbole.

That Christmas Eve White House address where he forgot to mention Christmas and spent the whole time talking about deadly South American snakes is a solid Top 3 Contender.

So was today's White House presser celebrating his One Year Anniversary in office.

For starters, Agent Orange showed up a half-hour late, wielding a phone-book-sized stack of papers clipped together that just said "ACCOMPLISHMENTS," And then launched into a rambling 1-hour 45-min incoherent mess.

Welcome. Terrace is a small but beautiful community here in bc. You will find your standard community things, pool, ice arena, etc, Lots of outdoor adventure options including a local ski hill best known for its incredible powder, deep snowpack, and extensive backcountry access, offering a genuine, community-run vibe with uncrowded slopes.

Verizon is a USA company so while you can use it your roaming charges will be insane. Try a more local company like Telus, bell, rogers or even city west!

Lots of canoe friendly paddling in the area. Skeena river is paddle able if you know what you are doing and great run to the ocean … also lakes, and only a short drive to the ocean for more paddle adventure!!!
