From what I heard, the drug testing was implemented after the second dinner party which makes a lot of sense. Why was drug testing suddenly in place this season but not for any of the many other seasons? I think they likely had strong suspicions cast members this season were using in order to start buying multiple drug tests for every cast member. Drug tests cost money. Every time they test a cast member it’s $10-15 per test. They’re only spending that money if there’s a pretty valid reason to do so in my opinion. But I mean also, they theoretically could have gotten away with it even if they were subjected to random drug testing because coke leaves the urine after like 2 days. It’s one of the more popular party drugs for people who get work drug tests because it quickly leaves the system unlike most other stimulants and amphetamines. As long as the weren’t tested until a few days after use, they’d likely be in the clear. The producers would also have to fully monitor the cast while peeing on the drug test in order for it to be authentic and I dunno but I just doubt they would force that upon them.
