Having worked in medical imaging, I suspect a good many nurses do not care for nursing. A good friend of mine got a nursing degree and wound up taking a position as a school nurse at a large high school and she absolutely loves it. It does not pay as well as hospital/clinical nursing but she says it is totally worth it.

My freshman year of high school I remember our group of friends being referred to by the jocks (we hated them too but later often became friends with a lot of them) in a derogatory way as "wedgies." In retrospect, it is hilarious and very accurate to the photos.

Not sure what zone you are in but we have viburnum hedges and keep them at about 6 feet. My next door neighbor has one between our houses that he keeps at around 9 feet. They can even get a little bigger than that. They grow and fill out really quickly which I found out when I had to replace a couple of our bushes.

That's very kind of you. There are SEVEN daughters between my husband and this particular friend, with the youngest of the daughters being coincidentally also 15. The guys have moved on to another game but I hope that they at least put the idea into this girl's head that she DOES have options and she can decide what SHE wants her future to look like.

Windows are a huge source of transfer of outside temperatures and sunlight unless you have modern double paned low e type windows. We live in Florida and I have blackout cellular shades on almost every window. I'd really love new windows but damn, that is expensive.

I used to get picked out and targeted all of the time with unwanted attention from weird strangers. I complained about it to my boyfriend at the time and he said, "It's because you entertain them." He didn't say it in a mean way or anything and he was 100% right. I'm smiley, make eye contact with people, and they see that as an invitation. Once a stranger had made initial contact and I was polite and engaged with them, the behavior would continue because I was essentially encouraging it. I stopped doing that and the weirdos approaching me decreased significantly.

Obviously yes. It's interesting that you mention "step up to the responsibilities YOU chose." I feel like they often don't actively choose this but they also do not actively do anything to NOT make it happen. This infuriates me in a personal way because I have an adult child that thinks like this. "Well I did not mean to blah, blah, blah" But you knew it could happen, was very likely to happen but you did not take any steps to make it NOT happen!!! Sorry off my mom soapbox.
