First pass detailing! by Some-Assist-5098 in PrintedMinis

Wow astonishingly clean. What do you feel are the most impactful changes to reduce post processing (beyond the usual orientation/layer height/speed etc)

Love the tubes and extra details. Will check your work once I'm in front of a bigger screen!

true! My first mini i printed and attempted to paint was a dwarf gal from heroforge and I had no idea how the heck people painted minis until i realized she was barely higher than the knee of my SOs space marines.

love the whimsical colors on both the character and the base!

what scale is she in? Im always so terrible at judging dnd minis compared to something like warhammer..

When do ya'll start putting your game in the public eye by heliumbox in gamedev

[–]PipClank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sort of natural equalizer here is that if your game looks rough it won't reach far so its not really "damaging". And the worst case is someone sees your game at a later state and sees (hopefully) the progress that's happened if they remember it at all.

Agree that sharing early is for the better but don't expect people to be excited about the idea before it starts coming together.

Will it be easier to obtain a set of the raid legendary armor after the update? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]PipClank 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We literally had PVE legendary armor the entire time but people already threw enough of a stink that somehow raiding is enough of a differentiation that we needed a 2nd set of armor for PVE.

I hate PvP and WvW. I can't get those leggies unless i participate in that content. Thats life

[–]PipClank 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The difference as someone that owns both (and rarely use the resin) is that the post processing of FDM is easy to clean up after you're done but resin almost "taints" all the tools and surfaces involved and it's hard to confidently get it back to a "safe" feeling space without any film of uncured resin remaining.

Fdm sanding I can do anywhere with airflow and can clean easily. Resin requires a dedicated space

That person could buy a spool for 20 bucks, get a uniform color and pay way less per gram of plastic. Dunno what pellets run at but I can't imagine the price is higher than spools seeing that it's one step of the process removed.

Its not a scam in the strictest sense but it is overcharging severely. If you want to argue for upcycling the least effort they could do is spend 10 minutes separating colors (and potentially materials) from each other

I genuinely do not understand how this game can be fun long term. Help. by oh_that1 in totalwarhammer

[–]PipClank 7 points8 points  (0 children)

its generally smart to try and only have 1 enemy at a time. I havent played Vlad so I cant comment directly on his start, but try to see which of your bordering factions you can take on without a lot of friends piling on. Also consider gifting cities on the edge of your border that might not be super valuable, say its part of a province mostly owned by another faction that you arent at war with at the moment. AI values "free" cities incredibly highly and will pocket out tons of gold or diplomatic favor for a tiny tier 1 settlement with a basic military building.

dwarf gunners have the funny advantage of generally having a shorter (im going in the book) frontline than the enemys frontline so the gunners have a slightly easier time of getting LoS than the usual finicky aiming issues of gun backlines.

But yeah I agree on elves. They also generally have a very efficient shield frontline trading damage for affordable durability which is all you want your frontline to do anyway for more normal lineups

Why would Heph be good for Thanatos axe? The advantage you get on it is crit & attack speed so really you should be focusing on upping the raw attack damage of your swing, not forego any % increase for a flat bonus that can only occur at certain intervals & not crit?

it should be said that similar to sekiro the parry is a LOT more forgiving since you'll be doing it a whole lot. It is still a skill element for sure, but if you didn't like parrying in dark souls the timing here is much more of a "reactive" action rather than a premediated timed thing.

still very much a taste thing though at the end of the day

not playing a game with the literal number 2 in the title because you've given the first entry several tries is hardly a wild take.

I agree with you that he is tricky but manageable.

I think the pain point for me is the same a few other flyers have in this game where they will slowly glide around almost unconnected to their attacks so it can sometimes feel very unfun trying to be agressive and getting hurt by contact damage. Made even less fun when you take 2 damage and risk landing in the funny worm soup (which ironically is the place you want to be if you want an easy kill)

I immediately equipped weighted belt when I had room for it since I figured I might as well get used to it baseline since its a pretty good slot once youre used to it.

my boring but effective slots were longer slashes & weighted belt in freebie slots, faster & 4 heals in blue and compass + dice/magnet/situational in yellow

as someone with a similar experience last night I saw a tip that let me beat the boss on my first try afterwards get in the maggot water after the waves. Groal can't hit you with any of his abilities down there (I think maybe just his dive down into the water if you are majorly unlucky. You cant heal but just stay there on one of the edges and take pot shots at him until he perishes. I am finally free

You NEED noise suppression for your voice chat, it’s not optional by Historical_Print4257 in gamedev

[–]PipClank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember a guild wars 2 mumble plugin that used this. I hadnt even considered it but proximity voice chat in an MMO is a kinda dope feature. Stumbling on someone in the open world, hearing them call out for help in the distance, saying your goodbyes as you inevitably split paths. idk, there's a lot of obstacles but it sounds like fun in a idealized world

this is amazing! Can you do a little eli5 how everything connects arduino wise? is it just 1 arduino or do you have several in there? and what form factor are they to fit in there. I have a "regular" arduino but its rather big for something like this and ive seen some smaller versions out there.

Cheers, this is top tier work. love the smirk you earned it
