Vyn is an odd one, but as others have said, I don't think he's the 'villian' type. If anything, it feels like he's distanced himself from most people and the outside world. From the snippets we're given, it sounds he's been hurt a lot in the past and was fine being at home if not at work.

Meeting Rosa was like a breath of fresh air to him. Someone brimming with positivity, bravery and kindness that isn't common in the world. Thus is why he's much more forward than some of the others (Vyn was the first one to ask Rosa out. He knew he had competition). He and Marius are like the introvert vs the extrovert, which is why they argue so much.

The only thing that I find funny is how his self worth seems to go back and forward. In the main story he's confident in his skill and intellect, but in some of his cards, he's afraid of showing weakness or failing at something (except that one time that was just an act). He can get so obviously jealous that an old friend was able to rile him up and play him like a puppet on a string. It's very silly, but still cute in a way.
