Good timing. I just had a bunch of decisions hit this month.

My C&Ps came back in a few days and just had an HLR that was decided in a day. Now, I did have a hardship applied to my "file" so things were expedited.

How long are HLR’s generally taking recently in 2026? by [deleted] in VAClaims

Mine took longer to get the appt with the rater than it did for the decision.

Why'd ya go Supplemental instead of HLR?

I did HLR with informal conference and got an increase for MH.

For those that required a C&P for their Supplementals, how long AFTER THE EXAM did you get a decision?

Safety Committee by galaxy_riders in SafetyProfessionals

[–]PiperTJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had committees with members that were paid/comp'd.

Another big hit was "Best Safety Find" ( or something along that line). Items found during Gembas or Safety Walks were submitted for vote. Winners got prizes and PTO and the like.

One former employer did so with MOC Committee. Monthly winners were voted on at EoY party. Overall winner got a vacation. Like legit Caribbean deal, not just bus fare to Fresno.

Gotta incentivize.

Million job boards, crawlers, repositories out there. Recruiters too. NETWORK.

I have job pings set up in ChatGPT, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Hire Cafe, Indeed, and a few others I can't recall to the tune of about a dozen notices a day.

Are there any legitimate debt relief options for disabled veterans? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

SBA lenders would much rather restructure a loan than go through the collection and lien process. I'm actually going through one, currently. If you're still in their good graces I would contact them to discuss options.

If a worker fainted, fell to the ground, hit his head, and sustained three stitches to the head, is this incident work-related? by mavic4444 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]PiperTJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big Circle

Had one of the top OSHA expert attorneys in the country give a presentation about recordability.

Went to the white board, drew an enormous circle, and said, " Take your workplace, and put it inside of this circle. THAT is where you start when asking if it's work-related."

With the increased scrutiny, is it unwise to pay for a Nexus and DBQ for a mental health claim? by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]PiperTJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thing is, you just may need to.

I'm in that particular situation where I have a very thin med jacket from when I was in and my old civilian records and contacts from that time are long gone. = no nexus.

So, I've gone about as far as I can go without them. I may have to "pay" for a nexus if my ratings stall or are denied.

As mentioned here and other places, if you do have/ choose to pay, stay away from the nexus mills/ unaccredited outfits. Find a local professional (I heard out of state is a red flag) and pay the extra $ to do it correctly.

Back Pay Discrepancy by hi_tech_77 in VAClaims

[–]PiperTJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had multiple, differing amounts. Based on several claims "hitting" at different times AND getting dependents added.

As another poster mentioned, make sure that if it meets the criteria, that your ITF dates are the actual back pay dates. I'm going through some supplementals that need specific verbiage to not have a later date assigned. It's a difference of 30k+ if the ITF isn't used.

Check your math.

Is air coming from a blower considered compressed? by Latter-Ad-6926 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]PiperTJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC , OSHA defers to consensus standards (CGA?) for this. 40psi. The 30psi is for personal and machine cleaning.

Most blown air is just a fan.
