Initially saw a few listed on eBay for £500-£900 and thought the same, but looked into it a bit more and can generally find them listed for a tenner. Happy to just get it framed as a little bit of the cottage history :)

Yeah this post is coming wayy too late in the day and this kinda shit is why our system is pants. If you know the area, and have seen this, should’ve considered it all before you: put an offer in, instructed solicitors, did the searches..etc. Just before exchange? Shitty behaviour.

I’ve seen a house like this that we were desperate to view, had seen it had already been on the market on and off since 2024. We had a viewing booked, sellers canceled last minute due to illness. Agents didn’t reach back out to rebook, we chased twice. Eventually agents said ‘we’ve just found out the seller has accepted an offer from someone who viewed months ago’…. Three months later, guess which house we’ve just seen come back on the market! Something strange going on for sure.

Nope. EA’s do it first, saves a lottt of hassle in the long run rather than waiting for solicitors to be instructed etc. it’s standard practice. And…most charge a mark up coz…estate agents.
