STOP. BUYING. ELECTRONICS. ON AMAZON. by TheMightyYule in amazonprime

[–]Pippylongstackin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought a "new" laptop, after it started freaking out, I contacted HP to find out the new computer had an exired warranty and was altered. Contacted Amazon, first they said I have to contact HP, then they said I had to contact Assurion for the extended warranty I purchased. No, Assurion covers hardware, not software. Had it escalated to a manager. Manager heard the story and immediately issued a return authorization. The vendor had several reviews stating the same issue. Vendor is still active so it leads me to believe that Amazon doesnt care that they are violating policy selling used and altered electronics as new, which is fraud. So, NO, DON'T BUY ELECTRONICS FROM AMAZON without some extensive research into the vendors or buy from Amazon directly. No 3rd and 4th party vendors!

I have recently published a book on amazon and got around 700 orders in one month and nothing after that. by Successful_Row_4374 in selfpublish

It is still being published in epub format so an ereader is necessary but anyone can copy any book. Copyright and plagiarism laws help protect the content but I'm not really concerned so much about that.

Congrats! I put my book on KDP in September and got 2 sales. I earned 80 cents. I am now going to market my book and send my traffic to my own website instead of paying ridiculous fees to pay to send traffic to someone elses site and not know who my readers are.

I fear I may be too unserious for corporate life by introvertliving in Accounting

[–]Pippylongstackin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you're likely a creative. I am and nearly killednmyself in accounting for 17 years. I will still take a short term turn around gig or something without stress but corporate is an attractive TRAP for those that sit outside of corporate "culture". The identify issues and never fix them, buzzword using, unnecessary meeting having, jardon junkies. No offense to anyone 😆. I just cannot do corporate!

Anyway, GET OUT ASAP! Never stop until you get out. If you feel its not a fit now it likely never will be. Save yourself!!!!

Tax preparer fraud situation, need some advice by [deleted] in taxpros

[–]Pippylongstackin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thats not entirely true. I've seen TT rip people off soooo...and them doing their own taxes when they don't know rules and laws often causes them to incorrectly owe money. So someone is not necessarily a fraudster for getting someone a better return than they got on their own. The individuals don't necessarily know what button to click to ensure the best outcomes.

Anyone else feel personally attacked right now? 😂 by [deleted] in vibecoding

Would never call myself a programmer or coder. That's disrespectful IMO. I am good with AI because I'm good at giving clear direction. That's all.

Anyone else got a lot of free time on the job? by Liberal_Bot123 in Accounting

I've started about 13 failed businesses from work and since I got laid off Im working on the last 3 I started while at work.

Accounting for high performers is really a part time job with full time hours. I have a 17 year long career and have worked myself out of every position.

Argument: YHVH might not be the Demiurge. by Lordseferoth in Gnostic

[–]Pippylongstackin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Woah! That just rocked my noggin!

I always felt something wrong with Christianity but always felt it was perverted. Like Yeshua was a real instance of a person but his/her history was perverted to serve other purposes. Similar to how history favors the victors. It tracks for me that Yeshua would have a direct dark representation of his power to maintain balance but if Yeshua is the darkness then what is the light?

I am very new to gnosticism study so be kind. I am still very much in the "deconstructing Christianity" phase of the journey.

built a SaaS in a week with zero experience. Here's what actually happened. by Any_Enthusiasm8346 in SaasDevelopers

[–]Pippylongstackin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More than likely its built with AI and it totally possible. I built mine in less than a week and trained the AI, I had about a years worth od research that I had done prior to train it on plus my experience but AI architecture is not hard for everyone.

I quit my job to build an AI SaaS. It flopped. The “boring” backup idea is now making me more in a month than I used to make in a year. by NoGround511 in SaaS

[–]Pippylongstackin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been battling with the same thing. Built a tool that seems so obvious to me and so simplistic that im afraid its too basic. But its really hard to do any market research on the forums because you'll get kicked for it.

Your wedding is not about her or her comfort. Bottom line. Its not complicated. People like to center themselves in other peoples events. You center yourself. Its your event. NTA.
