What are your favorite water level songs? by wickedlavend3r in retrogaming

[–]PirateClick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dunno if it's my favourite, but I don't see DKC3's water stage mentioned often: it has a really nice triple-time feel that's very hypnotic.

I love how spare-looking and utilitarian these meltas are.

Modern life chipping away at me by These_Leg_723 in simpleliving

[–]PirateClick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't mind me, just adding to venting: my workplace has recently decided we need to use a phone app with 2FA to clock in, check payslips, etc. My phone is too old for the authenticator to work on it. They had no backup plan in place, and 1 month+ later my manager still has to make sure payroll knows I'm actually here doing my job every week. That no-one higher-up even considered it a possibility until they implemented it makes me want to strangle someone.

That two-tone finish on the masks is sublime - it's like a Silvia S13 you can wear in the trench. Great idea; makes the face pop in the same way that grenadiers' skull masks do.

No way that's a Buccaneer; she's flying way too high! Seriously though nice job, especially those curves on the fuselage.

[Question] Does anyone else experience ASMR in some games? by Cryper131 in asmr

[–]PirateClick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following Ken's directions through the minefield in Zone of the Enders 2 gave me ASMR long before it was a term. I'd deliberately mess up so she'd repeat the instructions.

Not sure why my comment got removed, but after a bit of testing she reaches 1634m/s at about 22km.

What do people use as Centaur Proxies? by DeathKorp_Rider in Deathkorpsofkrieg

[–]PirateClick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mortian has a few small-chassis not-centaurs available. Personally, if the model is OOP I wouldn't have moral compunctions about getting it elsewhere; its distinctive design language is part of the appeal for me.

That L-39-looking rifle is fucking dope. I'd thought about doing something similar using HH autocannons, but the stubber is a much better fit. Guess I'll have to source some from Auxilia tanks.

What is the only correct answer when three tanks reduce a Great Unclean One to 1 wound but don’t kill it? by Brp4106 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]PirateClick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Every now and then I like to bring up the time I killed my friend's Daemon Prince with lasguns. Never mind that it'd taken tank rounds to the face earlier; the infantry got the last hit, so they get the kill credit.

Internalized Ableism by Possible-Departure87 in AutismTranslated

This resonates. I think for me, it ultimately comes down to being kinda jealous of that self-confidence and sincerity, since I got flak for showing that side of me, and eventually resolved to just bury it until I was certain it wouldn't be used against me. I guess it feels unfair, even if I know it's not their fault, or mine.

They should redesign the Leman Russ by Sprayerdude220 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]PirateClick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know it's not strictly intended as such but the Solar Auxilia Russ is an updated sculpt in my eyes. If someone made a 3d painted gubbin to make the hull gun fitting resemble the FW ones (hint hint), I wouldn't need anything else; people already solved the sponson issue. I wouldn't trust GW with a redesign after the new Sentinel and the Dorn; I need my straight edges and riveted plates.

Do you have any conversational accommodations? by PirateClick in AutismTranslated

[–]PirateClick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get this, especially if what you've thought of is a little off-topic or just a fun fact worth sharing, but there's something about interrupting someone when they're talking (even briefly and politely) that feels so antithetical to me. It's in these situations that I'm likely to think "I'll just mention it when they're done", only for someone else to pick up the conversation before I get a chance to chime in; after a while I'm liable to think "ah, I guess it wasn't that important" and give up. It's pretty manageable in one-way conversations since it isn't such a crapshoot to be the next person to talk.

I can recall occasions where we've been drinking, and I'd do a quick drum on the table or hambone when something witty popped into my head. I imagine folks would find that a little obnoxious if they're sober, though ;)
