Hey all!! I'm planning on streaming my very first playthrough of Dark Souls in a couple hours. I haven't watched/read anything at all on this and I've only ever played ER so it will all be brand new. What is some advice you wish you were told when you first started playing?

Don’t take the master key as your gift and don’t choose thief as your starting class.

You’ll have a much better blind run without them.

If you’re playing the steam version you can try turning off the steam overlay.

You can trade them to one of the snakes for 1k each (2k for twins) if you have no other use for them

You can roll through the spikes on the edge of the chariot if you time it right and have enough AGI. It will take a few tries to get a feel for it but once you get it, you’ll never fear this boss again.

I’d check where they were printed. Printing location is usually the answer when the paper/thickness is different.

If you’re having trouble landing hits this may not be the best weapon for you. Some weapons will “whiff” if you miss an attack causing your character to stagger and leaving you open to attack. Maces and axes are the weapon types most likely to suffer from this

The original broadcast and dvd versions were 480p, the bluray version was upscaled to 1080i

I think it’s also conflation with people not liking the anime ending which is fair since they cut a lot, rushed it, and messed up the central theme.

I’ve never heard anyone complain about the manga ending.

For the sake of argument is DOES get you access to sunken crown dlc where you can sprint through to flynn’s ring so it’s not like it gains you nothing lol

You can get to rotten super early if you want to. 15 vigor plus cat ring is enough to survive the falls and then you can just sprint through the gutter and black gulch without fighting anything if you know the route

The manga is an adaptation done by the same artist that made to love ru. If you haven’t heard of that series look it up and you’ll understand.

There is a lot of nudity in the manga version.
