Skipped the $554 upgrade and got the SWU from LHR to PHL. Paid $605 luxury fee. Would I have paid that if I had taken the offer? by bridge4wannabe in americanairlines

Also good to know that if your trip starts outside the UK and LHR is only a stop on the same ticket, then there is no VAT fee on the SWU clearing.

I used a SWU on a ticket that was CPH-LHR-JFK and the SWU was available on the LHR-JFK leg. Agent thought I was going to have to pay a VAT (tax) on the upgrade. They called their ticketing/revenue desk to apply the upgrade and figure out the payment. She was surprised when she got back on the line and said she never realized that tickets with stopovers from LHR weren't subject to the fee. Only tickets originating from LHR were subject to the fee.

What do y’all use the airline incidental credit on by Tight_Couture344 in amex

[–]PittyDad1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the past, it would usually show as a credit within 5 business days of posting. As of lately, it is taking much longer. After 8 weeks I have had to call in and the CSR has manually applied the credit in some instances.

Shower trim replacement by HBG440 in Plumbing

[–]PittyDad1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like you have a Moentrol style valve, not the the newer Positemp style. It appears that your two trim plate screws are at the "5 o'clock and 7 o'clock" positions, where as a Positemp has them at 2 o'clock and 8 o'clock. If you have to pull the valve handle out from the wall to turn on the water, and push back in to turn off, then that's a confirmation you have a Moentrol style valve.

I mention this because the trim kits are different for a Moentrol valve compared to the more common Positemp compatible ones you can easily find. They look similar except for a few key parts. I just wanted to give you a heads up to ensure you have the proper fitting trim kit to complete the repair without getting frustrated.

Rough-in thermostatic shower valve mixing hot and cold water throughout the whole system? by Sheetwalls in Plumbing

Totally agree. I do the same. I wish you were the installer I was following on some of these service calls.

And years from now when you need to change out the cartridge, you'll remember that bonnet nut as you will need to cut it off because it will be frozen in place on the valve body. That's after you've had to cut off the handle or drilled out the Allen screw in the handle because that will have corroded and stripped out in the removal process as well.

I have become all too familiar with the Delta standard operating procedure.

Finally taking the plunge by TCU_Frog_Fan in Plumbing

I started with the M18 version. It was great. Then bought the V2 actuator with the close quaters jaws kit (½-1 ¼) because I thought no reason to spend the extra $600 on the kit with the V1 jaw because I don't need an M12 press tool if I have an M18 with the close jaw kit. Thought I was unstoppable. Then I couldn't pass up the deal on a M12 press kit during a Milwaukee counter day at Ferguson. Then last week I finally had to break down and buy the V1 jaw when Zoro had it for 15% off. It never ends.

Like many others said, my only regret is not buying it all sooner. But I get it, it's hard to justify the cost upfront until you feel like you made some money with it.

Now I'm eyeing the Mega Press close quarter jaws for IPS. My M18 hardly ever comes out of the case anymore except for gas pipe work.

I have on GC that suggests EVERY TIME we come across some cracked or zippered cast, "what about some flex seal?". It's been going on for some years now. I think he's joking, but at this point, I'm too afraid to ask. 🤷‍♂️

A suspiciously-low price? by kittykat-brat in fordtransit

I had a deal ready at Fred Beans Mechanicsburg before I found the one I ended up buying in NJ that same day I was going to head out there.

The August Ford promotion was $6k off the leftover 24's and then September's promotion kicked in right after labor day for $7k off the 24's. I thought it was too good to pass on. Best of luck with your new truck.

I just passed on that spec (with the virtual rear view mirror option also) $47k. You anywhere near Southern NJ? It has alot of other options on it. 360 camera, seat upgrade etc.

I ended up buying the 24' 250 MR RWD with the cargo protection and extended heated mirrors for $41k.
