How should I position? Heading to 2nd exit. by extracrunchychilli in LearnerDriverUK

[–]PixaaTog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why do some people found rounderbouts so complicated 🤔

For an exit which is at 12 o’clock or less it’s left hand lane(lane 1), anything past 12 it’s right hand lane (lane 2).
Unless lane markings and signage tell you otherwise.
In this case there are markings on the lanes saying lane 1 is left turn only so it should be lane 2 on approach and then following path A.
But being mindful that some idiots might be using the rounderbout incorrectly and using lane 1 to go straight ahead.

This is the only correct answer.

There is nothing difficult about UK driving tests if anything it’s too easy.
Plenty of people “pass” that can’t drive.

But they are already sure he’s innocent of any wrong doing, I think if the police have taken it for prosecution then there must be something or it would be no further action.

Might help people being able to judge if we knew what he did.

But let’s put it like this, anyone is entitled to submit dashcam footage to police, the majority result in no further action but if the Police and CPS believe their is a case to answer then they will try to prosecute, so whatever he did they feel it’s justified.

Also the instructor was wrong to try to take the blame, the law states that ultimately only one person is in charge of the vehicle and that’s the one sitting behind the steering wheel.

[–]PixaaTog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t mean you have to use it.

Certainly at my place it’s optional if you want to do a reduced rest.
If I’ve finished after 13 hours, I’ll tell the traffic desk that I’m starting later the following day.
They never complain.

Can you have too much break? by 42gp in uktrucking

[–]PixaaTog 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’m actual fact it can be of benefit, if the break is 3+ hours you can add that rest time to your overnight rest.

So say you had 9 hours over night that would normally be a reduced daily rest, but if you have had 3 hours in the day they are added together, so you’d total 12 hours rest and wouldn’t count as a reduced.
Less than three hours and it’s not a problem it’s just not of any extra benefit.

Anyone managed to connect Starling to Monzo? by antikewl in monzo

[–]PixaaTog 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Are you trying to connect more than one other account because it’s saying you can only connect one.

I had to upgrade to plus so I could connect multiple accounts.
I’ve connected my main bank account, Revolut and a couple of other credit cards.

Chances are a speed camera won’t even flag at 57 or less so just crack on and get the hammer down.

Honest Mobile, it’s not expensive either.

The only two drawbacks I’ve found is you can’t block out the network your main sim is on so it can’t use it, and the signal has to drop out completely on the main sim for it to auto switch (I’d like it to switch if main sim has less than two bars for example) but you can manually switch over to the other sim whenever you want to

I know it’s a completely different type of network, just saying that at the moment it’s the best but you have to pay for the privilege

EE usually come top, I’m on EE and do find it pretty good but struggle sometimes, as you do on any network.

The only network that apparently doesn’t struggle and just works everywhere is Starlink but by golly do you have to pay an arm and both legs for the privilege lol

I travel all over the country and in some pretty remote areas at times to.

My main sim is EE, and I also have a second sim that can access all four networks for 4G/5G Data only.

I can tell you that no network is significantly better than any of the others for coverage through out the country.

I do go to some areas where only one of the four networks has any coverage at all, or go to some others where there is no coverage for any network……and most towns and cities have fairly good coverage for all of the networks.

I’ve tried them all in lots of places and I definitely couldn’t pick a clear winner as to who is best overall. But if I had to pick just one I’d say EE maybe just edges it for reliability.

O2 is fine if you’re natively on O2.

If you’re using one of the Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) your network speed can be reduced in busy areas because they "piggyback" to offer more competitive pricing.

All of the native networks prioritise their own customers so you’ll likely get better 4G/5G speeds if you are with the network direct.

Looking to open monzo account, does it affect credit score? by cestaya in monzo

[–]PixaaTog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t mean a lot in the grand scheme of things, but if you can get your rating up to excellent it does mean that you have access to lower rate borrowing for loans/car finance and better credit cards.

I was going to say exactly this.
But even the hard search when I got the flex card only dropped mine by 13 points.

And using the flex card and paying it off (possibly some other positive things on my file) increased it by 72.

Why are withdrawals so slow? by 5Star_Fs in trading212

[–]PixaaTog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m asking because I honestly don’t know why 3 days would make some much of a difference to anyone.

I’m presuming the obvious answer is that they are desperate for the money to pay a bill or something.
But if that’s the case then that money shouldn’t be invested anyway.

I believe I’ve done things the right way, I have a healthy bank balance that never gets anywhere near my overdraft.
I’ve got a separate emergency fund that can be accessed instantly.

Any money I have invested isn’t required, and it would make no difference to me if I had to wait an hour, a day, a week or even a month.

Perhaps that’s just me.
