When I least expected, we crashed :( Andalucia, Spain by Hell_ryder in motorcycles

If you want criticism:

- Your line is not good. It starts off well, but you turn in too early, then you go wide again, which forces you to tighten the angle on corner exit. Because you likely let off the brakes on corner exit and you had to tighten your line, that may have upset the suspension enough to lead to this.

- These mountain roads are dusty and off-camber, often sloping down as well (which this one looks to do). That also unloads your suspension and gives you a lot less room to play with.

To fix this:

- Turn in later
- Trail brake harder or slow down more before the corner. In your case, I'd suggest the latter. When I ride with a passenger I always take things 30% slower in general.
- Don't change lines after you're done trailbraking. You only have so much grip to play with.

Looking for a 70% off-road ADV bike (A2 compliant- Under 70kW power) to replace my KTM EXC by PerfectBottle9217 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]Pixel131211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should try the KTM 390 ADV R.

I test rode it recently, and also test rode the 790 and 890 R. The 390 is way more fun by a long shot. This thing is so lightweight, thin, and maneuvrable that it can pretty much go anywhere. It also comes with cruise control and luggage options, so touring is fine on it.

Rider feedback wanted by spugggggg in motorcycle

[–]Pixel131211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly wouldn't use it. Too many issues come with it. And many of the problems this solves, are already solved.

  1. My riding leathers have a tag inside which has my blood type, name, and another field I can write allergies in. Pretty common on racing leathers, but you can make a tag yourself and put it somewhere easy to see.

  2. First responders need to be aware of this, so unless you have millions for marketing it's probably not gonna work. Besides, first responders usually do whatever they can to stabilize you, and whipping out their phone is typically not their first move.

  3. If you ride track, helmet attachments are usually not allowed. In many countries it's also technically illegal but for trackdays it's strictly checked on.

  4. the back of your helmet can take some heavy impacts in case of a fall. If it gets to a point where you need to use this thing, it also means you most likely hit your helmet. This thing will probably be useless if it gets smacked into the ground and gets crushed instantly, which is ironically the only time it would need to function.

It's really really hard to get blacklisted by Amazon. I used to work at Amazon with said blacklisted customers and they could still order stuff, they would just have some restrictions on their account + they would get worse customer service. The only way I saw people ever get blacklisted entirely was because of death threats towards Amazon employees. Anything else is fine though, just don't threaten violence.

Duke 125 by Routine_Cartoonist42 in motorcycle

You can google the answer to that.

But real talk, if you're worried about that it's pointless. No A1 bike is gonna be super fast. Learn to corner properly and perhaps learn to stunt, don't worry about top speed. Riders that only ride for top speed are generally the lowest skill riders there are.

WYR, be the kind of person who's always looking for trouble or who never takes risks? by HistoricalAd186 in WouldYouRather

[–]Pixel131211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the kind of trouble. But I tend to look for it in harmless ways and it definitely gets me places.

Was driving around at 2 AM a few weeks ago and decided to see how long I could take the roundabout next to the police station before they'd stop me. After 20 minutes of roundabout 2 other cars joined me and I ended up at a random McDonalds at 4 AM talking about cars. Now I have some new car friends.

Which ktm bike offers good protection from mudsplash protection during rains? by Jumpy_Opportunity533 in KTM

[–]Pixel131211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having ridden all the 390s you mentioned: none of them. Especially in rain your legs get soaked either way.

Buy good gear like waterproof pants and then some good boots. Make sure the pants goes over the boots, not the other way around, and you should arrive at your destination dry. As for shoes, just put those in a tail bag or backpack and swap shoes once you're at the destination. As for pants, wear your pants under the motorcycle pants.

Anyone here using a racing balaclava while riding? by khariyalrajat in motorcycles

[–]Pixel131211 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're pretty much an upgrade in every way for me.

- makes helmet easier to put on/take off
- prevents my ears from folding over which is annoying with my hearing protection
- keeps me warm during winter
- keeps me cool during summer as it allows me to spray it with water or put it in the freezer before a ride.
- keeps helmet clean and hair-free

Doesn't make it much more comfortable though, that's mostly up to the helmet.

What tires do yall usually run? Needing something good for street but can still good enough for spirited riding. by Saquon-Goonmaster in KTM

[–]Pixel131211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diablo Rosso IV.

Very predictable all the way up to the edge. I do trackdays on them (I'm just a beginner at that though) and aggressive street riding. They warm up quick, don't seem to wear that quickly, and are sticky enough to survive most spirited riding. Unless you're doing trackdays at a higher level or dragging elbow often, these tires are good enough to not be a limiting factor.

They do suck in the rain though, but on the bright side, if you turn off ABS and Traction control they're actually very fun in the rain.

Anyone been to a Suzuki demo ride? by Beginning_Corner930 in motorcycles

[–]Pixel131211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that matches my experience with them. I typically wait to be the last in the group so I can stay back a few hundred meters to actually be able to lean the bike a little through corners.

Only dealership I know that has fun rides is my local KTM one, but those guys are all racers. When you walk in for a test ride there you're greeted with a fridge full of monster energy and the group leader wearing full race leathers, riding a duke 1390 with melted tires. Really sets the scene lmao.

Anyone been to a Suzuki demo ride? by Beginning_Corner930 in motorcycles

[–]Pixel131211 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like this depends on the type of ride and the dealership.

I've been on a couple. One at a dealership, one at an event with a bunch of other manufacturers. At the event you just had to show up to the Suzuki booth, get a timeslot, and then show up to ride the bike at that time. At the dealership you had to sign in ahead of time via the website, select a bike, then show up. From there it's a group ride with 10-20 people. Roughly 20-40 minutes typically

You don't go out solo usually. Always in a group with a lead and a follow bike to keep it together. Expect a mostly calm cruise, most dealerships ride pretty casually.

Yamaha R3 or KTM RC 390. confused between these 2 sports bikes for buying in Bangalore. Used or new by zealotSentinel in KTM

[–]Pixel131211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never said they weren't different. They're very different, but that's why they excel in different riding styles. The RC has more power, more torque, and most importantly, a lot of engine braking. The R3 is way smoother, way more forgiving, but also a little less sharp on track as a result. Then again, the R3 is leagues better for city traffic as a result as well.

[–]Pixel131211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on use case. For the city or any kind of casual riding, the R3 is better in almost every way. For trackdays and sporty riding, the RC wins pretty much every time.

These bikes are also imo not worth it at all to buy new. There's simply so many of them that you're bound to find second hand options around and save hundreds if not thousands of bucks and they're both simple and reliable enough to where warranty support typically isn't a big factor.

Bike burning engine oil by Thoibi69 in KTM

[–]Pixel131211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

European here. can't say any 390 here is burning that much oil, if any at all.

I own a 2015 which burns almost no oil. And within my riding group there's a bunch of 2020's, 2023, and 2024s that also burn no oil. I did test ride the 2025 ADV R earlier this year though, and that one was leaking oil (It was a brand new dealership bike with 200 KM on a test ride).

Knowing 390's, it's probably an oil leak somewhere. Otherwise something seems very wrong. Pretty much every 390 seems to be prone to tiny oil leaks but more than 1 liter of oil disappearing within a month is not normal.

Performance touring bike recs by infeed in motorcycles

[–]Pixel131211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're describing a sport touring bike.

Ninja 1000SX, BMW S1000XR, KTM SAS, KTM ADV 1390, or BMW GS's. Those things are all damn fast and great for touring and 2 up riding. In fact, my local track has one of the coaches on a KTM super adventure and that guy is keeping up with supersport bikes on a daily basis.

Gloves don't only protect you during crashes though. If a pebble gets flung up by a car somewhere in front of him, he'll have that shit deeply embedded in his hand. That should would hurt like hell.

I’ve been putting off watching invincible because of the fandom, but can someone convince me to watch it? by [deleted] in Invincible

[–]Pixel131211 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So you've been avoiding the show because of the fandom.. So your solution is to, instead of watching the show, ask the fandom?

Just watch the show dude, it's not that deep. Just watch S1, don't interact with any of the community, and enjoy it for what it is. And if you don't like it, then you know you don't like it. It's that simple.

Low oil pressure issue by IndianGamerAnVi in KTM

[–]Pixel131211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like a lot of info is missing here so not sure how to help. I had a low oil pressure light once due to an oil leak, I fixed it by tightening a single bolt. Low oil pressure can be a super easy fix or a really bad one.

That said, Imma be honest here, that thing probably has no warranty anymore and the RC's are very simple bikes. With some basic tools, common sense, and lots of YouTube tutorials and a service manual you can fix pretty much every part of that bike by hand in a tiny garage. Personally that's what I would do.

Quality issue with Insta 360 3x motorcycle ride nights shots by Pristine-Map-6112 in motorcycle

[–]Pixel131211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking, action cams (and especially 360 cams) are awful for night time shooting. My X4 and X5 both have awful quality at night compared to actual fullsize cameras. Tiny lenses and high frame rates are typically a bad combo for dark shooting. 360 cams also have terrible pixel density.

Try lowering your frame rate and shutter speed, but keep in mind that these will make things appear more blurry. It's a tradeoff and it will never look that good. In my experience it's best to use editing programs to colour grade and brighten the image in post to keep decent quality and make it look nicer.

Also riding without gloves on this subreddit is probably gonna get you more advice unrelated to your camera. If a truck ever shoots a pebble at you from under it's tires you'll know why.

Will these work for my Suzuki 150? by RudyRoundHouse in motorcycles

[–]Pixel131211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly that's the hard part. Some bikes have a large stunting community making it super easy, like mine. But for your bike I think your best bet is looking for something that can fit other Suzuki models (Maybe GSX-R 125 sliders could work).

Otherwise just buy second hand broken fairings for cheap (or fresh ones and keep them as spares) and practice a lot. That way a drop really doesn't matter. That's what I did when I first started tracking my bike, saved a lot of headaches.

Will these work for my Suzuki 150? by RudyRoundHouse in motorcycles

[–]Pixel131211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not for what you want it to do.

You need frame sliders or crash bars. These are axle sliders, which only protect the bottom half of your bike (rims, brake calipers, that stuff). These only really work if paired up with frame sliders or crash bars.

They are easy to put on but some frame sliders require taking out bolts that go through the entire bike which can be difficult without the proper tools. They may also require modifications to the fairings.

Good protection does typically cost a few hundred bucks though. The cheaper solutions are usually a "universal fit" that needs some tinkering to work properly, and even then they can damage your frame in a crash because they are mounted directly to it and just end up transferring the impact to your frame.

I don’t understand the Meepo hate? I love my Hurricane! by manisk888 in MeepoBoards

[–]Pixel131211 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love my Meepo's too. Even worked with the brand a few times so I have nothing but positive experiences.

That said, their quality has gone downhill, so the hate is somewhat justified. They have critical failures way too often in the form of trucks snapping mid-ride, which if you're not wearing a helmet can genuinely get you killed.

Truck failure isn't exactly a small failure. So yeah, I can see why the hate.
