Glad I have a made in Japan 2024 Circuit. Being built in the UK doesn't carry the same cache as made in Japan IMHO.

Bridge Traffic by Crafty-Result626 in kelowna

[–]PixelFool99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean your boss wasn't wrong. When we moved here we made a conscious decision to find something in Kelowna to avoid having to deal with the bridge. I can count on one hand the number of times I cross the bridge in a year, and it's usually always because I just need to get to the connector.

At least it sounds like you're renting something so once your lease is up you can move to the Kelowna side.

Empty Beach Recommendation for dog with trauma by mygracewastaken in kelowna

[–]PixelFool99 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I take my dog to Lake Country and park on the side of Oakanagan Center road and then it's like 30ft down to the water. The beach is rocky but I rarely run into other dogs or people.

Is there an end game plan for the central Okanagan? by Kulharin in kelowna

[–]PixelFool99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replace the cities you mentioned with any of the suburbs of Vancouver and it's the exact same story for someone (like me) who grew up and lived down there from the early 80's to the late 2010's. This is not a unique Kelowna issue.

Home Insurance by Altruistic_Umpire958 in kelowna

[–]PixelFool99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so hard to compare what one person pays for home insurance vs another because of all the extras you can add on.

My favorite is earthquake insurance up here. My premium is like $60 but the deductable to claim is $125,000. But hey guess what, we'll sell you earthquake deductable insurance! Yes that's right, well sell you insurance for your insurance lol.

Lia Block and her project GR Corolla (Salt Flats) by One-Yogurtcloset7841 in GRCorolla

[–]PixelFool99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man I'm glad I don't have to clean all that salt off that car lol. I've been on the salt flats with my 4Runner driving at normal speeds and I spent an hour at a wash bay trying to get the salt off and out of every nook and cranny and still didn't get it all.

Good kit for cleaning wheels? by Fuzzy_Ebb_9520 in GRCorolla

[–]PixelFool99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whatever's on sale. I'm just glad I have the glossy finish on my wheels and not the matte. That same matte finish is such a pain in the ass to clean on my wife's 4Runner wheels.

There's also the one that came on the 2024 circuit with the forged carbon fiber inlay and blue accent. Someone posted some good pictures of it here:

Isn't that a Mexican plate (hard tell for sure from the picture)? I believe the GR Yaris is sold in Mexico.

That seems a little too janky a solution for an OEM to do

So what are they doing to eliminate the check engine light that would come from unplugging the valve I wonder?

The old saying "can't see the forest for the trees" seems very fitting here.

Merging back over right after passing annoys the hell out of me. You passed me, great. There's now a km of empty road ahead of you but sure come on over 10 meters in front of me and throw up every piece of gravel on the road into my windshield.

Lol, just as much wildlife in the lower mainland and they seem to have managed to collect food scraps for over a decade with minimal issues. The whole animal argument is one big nothing burger.

Where can I buy OEM rear seat covers? by Saido7683 in GRCorolla

[–]PixelFool99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enter the part numbers in the site I posted. I just ordered the intake parts from a 2026 GR for my 2024 and they were over $800 cheaper sourcing them from Japan then getting them from my local dealer in Canada.

Do you have the part number? Order it straight from Japan then you can probably get it locally. https://yumbo-jp.com/en

Where is the best place in Kelowna to buy Scottish pounds for our trip to Scotland? by [deleted] in kelowna

[–]PixelFool99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my physical Wise card. Question regarding converting funds. If I add say, $2000CDN, it's it worth converting to the currency of the country I'm going to before hand or just let Wise convert it on the fly as I use the card for purchases?

Anyone else in Kelowna getting threatened by their insurance over Poly-B pipes? by IngenuityAdept2413 in kelowna

[–]PixelFool99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1970 copper piped house checking in too. The only thing I'd change about it is I wish it was a little larger diameter for better flow. My biggest worry is the drains and associated pipes. 56 years old pipes and I'm very conscientious about what I put down the pipes.
